We recently stayed at Hotel Sonar Bangla, Mandarmani, for two nights with family and friends, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Service Standards: The service quality was extremely poor, with staff displaying a rigid and unaccommodating attitude. For almost every request, the initial response was “no,” which felt more like dealing with a government organization rather than a hospitality property. Hygiene Issues: We also observed a lack of proper hygiene, which was concerning. There were fly in breakfast. Inflexible Approach: Despite purchasing six meals during our stay, the staff refused to accommodate a simple request to cook Maggi for the kids, even though we provided the packets. Additionally, when we requested some extra tables and chairs in our room, the staff outright denied the request without any effort to assist or provide alternatives. Such inflexibility is unprecedented in any property we’ve visited before. This was our third stay at a Sonar Bangla property, having previously stayed at their Sundarbans and Mayapur locations within the past four months. Both prior experiences were positive, which led us to choose Sonar Bangla again. However, this particular experience has left us highly dissatisfied and questioning the consistency of service across your properties. This property can be avoided for the people who expects basic service approach and particular about hygiene factor.
