No 42 by GuestHouse, Margate

This really was a glorious break and No 42 guesthouse was the plushest most delightful spot from which to enjoy Margate. From the enormous comfy bed to the roll top bath and bath salts, the record player and vinyl and of course the pantry. Loved every minute and can’t wait to return.

Margate is such a quirky, vibrant place with a number of exceptional dining options and our stay at 42 made our visit perfect. The hotel is located directly opposite a lovely beach; the rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed ; the staff could NOT be more charming and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

I loved everything about this small boutique hotel, from the vinyl records to the child friendly items in the room. We tried the restaurant and the SPA, which were wonderful. The view of the beach was lovely to wake up to as well. Will recommend to friends and will visit again next time we are in Margate.

We had such an amazing time at No 42 guest house that we booked to try their hotel in York before we had even left! From the moment we arrived and through out our stay all the staff were so welcoming and helpful. Our room had a superb view of the beach along with a balcony. It was very comfy, clean, and well equipped. The unique touches like the pantry and record player were a lovely treat. The food and drink in the Pearly Cow were very tasty with a well thought out menu. The breakfast was lovey too with a good selection. In such a great location near to all the shops , bars and restaurants that Margate has to offer we would definitely recommend and hopefully return. Hoping to try guest houses in Bath and Brighton too! Thank you to everyone at No.42 for making our stay so memorable.

Our recent stay at No42 Guest House was very welcoming. The staff was incredibly pleasant and helpful from the moment we arrived. Room was cosy, spotless and the bed was comfortable. The elegantly furnish dining/restaurant room “Pearly Cow” served delicious meals. The location of No 42 was perfect—just a short walk to the Margate beach. Highly recommended.

Delightfully stylish decor but breakfast was a sad contrast to the quality of the hotel. The advertised “freshly squeezed orange juice” was anything but being cheap carton quality. The fresh fruit salad was totally melon apart from a solitary pineapple cube and the full English included, apart from a sausage and black pudding, just half a tomato, a standard mushroom and 2 slices of streaky bacon rather than the typical and reasonably expected back bacon
