No 42 by GuestHouse, Margate

Well what cant I say about my experience at No.42 by GuestHouse. I stay away for business at least twice a week and this is with out doubt the best hotel that I have stayed in in 2024. I will start by mentioning the great service delivered by the staff. They were so friendly and went out of their way to ensure that I had a lovely stay. The staff went above and beyond at this quirky boutique hotel. The quality of the food was excellent and again a great service. My room was absolutely beautiful with finishing touches that I have not seen before. There was a record player in the room with albums to choose from. There was also a old fashioned radio that was on when you arrived in the room. The quality of the bed linen and towels was exceptional. There was also extra touches a beautiful free standing bath with beautiful body lotions etc. Robe and slippers. I had the best night sleep and I do not normally sleep well whilst away. On my floor outside in the hall way they also had a Candy station where you could help yourself to old fashioned sweets, cookies and fruit. There was a fridge with different flavoured waters. They also have a roof top bar which I didnt visit on this occasion. Breakfast again had the best local produce and was made to order not a buffet. I also needed a taxi the next morning which was ordered by the front desk and arrived within 5 minutes. Thank You so much to all the staff. I can not wait to come here again next year.

This was a return visit for us, we enjoyed it so much the first time, the formula for success is very simple, others could follow it: stylish, spotless a bit quirky.....and employ the friendliest and most attentive team. The rooms are lovely, the record player is a lovely touch, the panty is great fun and like being in your kitchen at home for finding a snack. The restaurant at the hotel is first class, but there are other great places to eat - even next door, if you want a change but it is raining! Recommended, give it a try.

Loved my stay here! The hotel is gorgeous, I don't think I'd stay anywhere else in Margate. It's a gem! The staff were super friendly, the bedrooms were supherb I was surprised at how spacious the rooms are. The Wildsmith products in the bathroom were so good, I also got a complimentary spa kit filled with more luxury products which I'm still enjoying post trip. On my floor, outside my room was a free pantry which had an array of sweets and treats.. it was literally a dream! I went on a solo trip, needed some time away from the city and this was the perfect retreat. From the cocktail on arrival to the amazing spa treatments downstairs it's hard to pick my favourite moment from my stay. I would recommend getting the breakfast, the view from the restaurant is a so lovely, it faces the sea and their French toast is delicious. Also speaking of the sea the hotel is seconds away from the seaside, it's a great location for getting around the town.

We visited no 42 last week. I can highly recommend it. The staff were all lovely. Breakfast was superb. The views from the dining room were great. The room was superb. Clean warm and comfortable. The car park opposite was more than useful. We ate in the dining room one night and it didn't disappoint. The 'pantry ' on the 2nd floor was more than a welcome addition. Nothing was too much trouble.

Margate is such a quirky, vibrant place with a number of exceptional dining options and our stay at 42 made our visit perfect. The hotel is located directly opposite a lovely beach; the rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed ; the staff could NOT be more charming and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

I took a two-day solo trip to Margate in October, escaping from my kids and husband after experiencing redundancy, and it was exactly the break I needed. The highlight of my stay was No. 42 – I loved it! From the moment my bag was collected at the station to the exceptional service from the staff, everything was perfect. My beautiful bedroom and the delightful cocktail in my mini-bar made me feel like a new woman. I can’t wait to return! Thank you to James and his team for a fabulous two-night stay. If you’re looking for a solo getaway, a romantic escape, or a weekend with friends, this is the hotel to book when visiting Margate. It’s centrally located and has a view of the beach, and I highly recommend upgrading to a room with a sea-facing balcony – it’s wonderful!
