Garden House Bed and Breakfast

The Belvedere is a beautifully restored home in downtown Hannibal. We stayed in the Belvedere Suite, which was so cool. Walked to various attractions. Pat and Bob were great, hospitable and fun to talk to. Breakfasts were delicious! Great for a weekend away.

My son and I stayed there while taking a course with Bob Yapp who owns the Inn with his wife Pat. They both are very friendly, down to earth, accommodating and genuinely enjoy talking with the guests. In short time you feel like you are a family friend who has come to visit. We took a wooden storm window construction class with Bob (google his name) which was excellent. With all of his experience and stature in the world of restoration and preservation of homes he is patient, helpful and truly enjoys sharing his knowledge with the students. He offers a number of classes and also has guest instructors come to teach at the school (Belvedere School). Rooms are very comfortable and quiet. I stayed in the Alfred Lamb Room which was absolutely huge with a king size four poster bed. I don't know the actual height but the ceilings upstairs and down must be 10-12 feet high which makes for a spacious feeling on top of the large room. The Belvedere Inn was a wonderful experience and sincere enjoyment. A beautiful newly created home exhibiting an historic past. Pat and Bob went to the extremes to create a luxurious environment to enjoy after a long day of travel! Pat is a warm and friendly hostess and wonderful conversationalist. Five star baths and beds offering a Kohler American Club experience! And breakfast, wow! Egg creations with home grown herbs, maple sausages, and French pear clafoutis, omg!! Make the trip as it is an exceptional stay! Thanks Pat! You rock!

My husband and I were aghast as the run down filthy so called bed and breakfast. The weeds were high in the yard and the dust and dirt inside the house was everywhere. We had unfortunately paid in advance so we were out our money too. The condition of the place was so bad we didn't even go to our room. There was NO WAY I would ever even sit on the furniture let alone sleep in a bed there. The neighborhood was very run down also. I'm writing this to warns others. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE TO STAY!

I recommend a stay at the Belvedere Inn when in Hannibal, MO. The owner is very nice and does a great job at making you feel comfortable and welcome and the B&B. She provided excellent recommendations for dinner and made fantastic breakfasts each morning. The rooms are large, comfortable with private baths and a shared use kitchen. The living rooms in each building have fun games to play and the main house has a pool table. You are within walking distance to main street and the local shops and restaurants. Comfortable beds, hot showers and good internet. If you have any questions about what to do while you are in town, just ask. The owner is more than willing to make recommendations.

We enjoyed our stay at the lovely B &B. Our room (Henry's Room) is spacious with a nicely updated bathroom in a separate house from the main house. Pat is a great hostess and made a delicious healthy breakfast. If we return to Hannibal we'll definitely stay here again.
