Vista Bonita - Gay and Lesbian Only Resort

It’s day three of my holiday. I wake up, and hear sunlounger being moved from around the pool and workmen. As I’m eating breakfast I’m handed a letter stating the pool is closed for works (handed whilst the pool is being taped off, astroturf being rolled up and furniture removed). The advice in the letter read to go and use a pool at there other hotel. However after spending two days at their other hotel, the last thing I wanted to do was go back there. My plans for the next few final days of my holiday was to spend time at the hotel I actually booked and paid for, on the basis all the facilities would be available to me (so to that point the pool has been falsely advertised). I also wanted to use the pool at my hotel as I was close to my apar**ent so I can have breaks from the intense sun, make my own lunch, drink water from my fridge and not have to walk 35 mins each way or spend 20 euros on taxis to another hotel where I would have to pay for food and drink, use public toilets and not be in the comfort of my own accommodation. Had I been given more than 0 minutes warning about works on the pool I would have avoided booking this property all together. And those works! Sanding, filling and painting using toxic chemicals close the breakfast and bar area and the rooms - Please refer to photos. Utterly unacceptable and a ruined holiday.

Great apar**ents. But the pool And hot tub are always a letdown No heated pool Unusable by everyone hot tub more like an almost warm tub. Will be. Sending an email. On are return home. Been here over the last 8 years. Some thing are great the pool and hot tub not so great past 3 trips here. I do understand. That parts need to be shipped in. Still no pool as of the 6/ 12 /2023

Another visit to Vista Bonita and it’s still as excellent as ever. Relaxing environment, great facilities and fantastic staff. All the staff are such a fab friendly and welcoming team. David and Eduardo at the bar are a fabulous double act making great drinks and bar food for us. The cleaning team are so efficient - we recognised them from last year. They take such pride in their work. We love the small sized resort as it means it is rarely crowded. Guests are of all all ages and geographies and never judgemental. This is genuinely a place to be your true self and just soak up the beautiful weather. We shall return next year 😊

We have been coming here for a number of years now and have met some lovely people and made some great friends. VB is a great place to come for a winter sun holiday, you can come any time of the year. Typically, Gran Canaria gives you lovely weather most of the year-round, the duplex apar**ents with Kitchenette are great for socialising, having one-to-one time and great for solo travellers. The apar**ents have fantastic AC which is really appreciated when the weather is extremely hot, as it was on our last few days there. It was well in the high thirties. The AC was a cooling relief. Even the cute resident cats seek refuge in our apar**ent to get away from the intense heat. Over the years we have been coming here to MOW Hotels have made a lot of great upgrades to all areas of VB. The bar staff are very friendly and helpful. The cleaners are very friendly. They even leave lovely little touches, like putting your teddy bears together on the bed. Cute! Shockingly, on our visit this time. Late September till early October 2023 the pool and Jacuzzi was over chlorinated. A number of guests and I did inform the bar staff and the receptionist. The over chlorinated water destroyed my swim wear. I and other guests sustained a few chemical burns. I and other guests did report this. When I reported this, I was informed by the receptionist to email MOW Hotel management where they sorted out the damage to the swimwear. They didn’t seem to be overly concerned about the chemical burns guest sustained. I don’t know how to describe this, but I will try. In my opinion, MOW hotels business model is to create a tasteful, lovely, friendly safe space for the LGBTQ+ community, of which I feel they have achieved. Their hotels are very welcoming, clean, tidy, very friendly and cater to the community very well. However, this year they have decided to put up a gynormous advertisement for swimwear, with more than life-like male models. I feel this isn’t meeting the business model MOW Hotels stand for. It’s really limiting the pictures I could take as the backdrop would be that massive advertisement making it challenging to take a picture. Even more challenging, this advert is the whole length of the pool. Ironically, if you were to purchase any of the advertised swimwear it would be ruined by the over chlorinated water. There is a whole range of reasons why this advertisement is wrong. Another is body positivity. Mental health is on the rise due to life pressures, social media, covid-19 recovery, global economy squeeze adding pressures on everyday living and much more. Caution ⚠️ Please be mindful when you go into the pool or Jacuzzi, if any part of your skin starts to sting or burn get out of the water and rinse yourself off thoroughly at any one of the poolside showers, located at either end of the pool and report it straight away. If you don’t want any nice swimwear destroyed, then don’t wear them in the pool or Jacuzzi. Certainly, don’t wear white swi

Being one of the few women at this property during my stay, I was first a little taken back that I wouldn't be accepted. First, I would like to say from the moment I stepped into the reception area, the young, pleasant man immediately knew who to expect I(hardly a surprise as I was the only woman checking in that day). HOWEVER, he and staff were highly engaging and pleasant throughout the entire stay. As an "older" (59...is apparently old these days) who speaks no Spanish, I had trepidations about my decision for this trip. The entire staff at this complex made me feel right at home and welcome. Thank You Guys!!

A really great place to stay, really relaxing with a pool and hot tub, and sauna on the roof terrace. The bungalows are spacious and well equipped and the staff were unfailing polite, helpful, friendly and fun, especially lovely Massimo behind the bar! Planning to return in November.

Have been there few times and always had a pleasant stay, friendly staffs at the bar (Massimo and Eduardo) always happy to please the customers, the room was clean, the Sauna has the most amazing view of the island. Definitely will stay there again.

We booked during the first week of Maspalomas Pride and we’re glad to have some distance from the Yumbo! It was peaceful, the staff were amazing (especially the guy who made us breakfast every morning - I’m not sure if we’ve ever met a happier person!) The bungalows were spacious with well equipped kitchenettes and each had some private outside space to relax. There was also plenty of space by the pool and the sauna on the roof was an added bonus. We’ll be back!
