Hotel O Sole Mio

1st visit to Italy and so glad we picked this hotel. Cannot fault it at all. All staff are smiling, friendly and helpful from management to maintainence man. Room on top floor with amazing views. Massive comfy bed and a great shower room. Food was excellent especially evening meal. Hotel is in a great location, close to San Paolo Monastery. 10 minute walk into Sant Agata which is a lovely little town. Did a half day visit to Herculaneum which is interesting and a must do is the Little Blue Train tour which can be arranged by the hotel. Had a really enjoyable holiday and will definitely return.

Cannot rate this little hotel high enough, everything was wonderful . Great food , excellent services from all staff reception were so helpful , dining staff attentive and the rooms cleaned immaculately every day. If you stay there you must visit the monastery next to the hotel . Go up the bell tower to the 360 view , indescribably stunning .Also visit Marine da Conte prettier than Positano which is also lovely but busy .

This was our third visit to sant Agata Sui de golfi and our 2nd visit to hotel o sole o mio. Fantastic holiday. Swimming pool set in the most beautiful gardens. Rooms immaculate. Views from balcony spectacular. The friendliest staff you could meet, on reception Veronica and Candida were fantastic. All the restaurant staff led by Toni were amazing. The food was decent, 3 choices every night, good wine list. It was not Michelin star but you get what you pay for and more. Continental breakfast was good. My husband and I love this hotel and love this village. Fantastic for anyone wanting a peaceful holiday with fantastic transport links to Amalfi, Pompeii. Hope to be back next year

Excellent hotel, all be it located a little further out of Sorrento than expected. Staff are supperb from owners to cleaners, with cheerful welcomes every day. Although the town of St Agata is quiet, there are still plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy. A short bus ride from St Agata takes you into Sorrento, where further transport can be taken to other tourist destinations. Note that the free bus from the hotel to Sorrento finishes on 31st August. Walking to Sorrento takes around 45mins downhill on ancient footpaths, but take the bus back up the hill. My only disappointment was the food, which, although adequate, was not to my liking. We stayed on half board, but I found the food bland and repetitive.

I have just returned from this lovely Hotel. I traveled alone to full fill a long held dream to visit Pompeii and Vesuvius.It is situated in a gorgeous little town above Sorrento. A ten minute walk down into the centre and right next door to a monastery, which you can access for breathtaking views. I have genuinely never been to a cleaner, friendlier hotel. I am vegan and the Maitre D,chef, and waiting team could not do enough for me to ensure I had plenty to eat and boy was it tasty! The reception staff, in fact all staff were so friendly and welcoming, I was put completely at ease and felt very safe and looked after at all times, important when you travel as a woman, solo. I booked many trips from the hotel including pompeii/Vesuvius and they were all fabulous. As others have mentioned it is a little steep to walk back up the hill from the village so bear that in mind and it is a short bus ride away from central Sorrento ( though I did this a number of times and almost felt like a local by the end of the week). It was always a joy returning to the charm and peace of St Agata and the O Sole Mio at the end of the day. I definitely intend to return. Highly recommend.

Lovely clean hotel - daily room service - staff so helpful and welcoming. Food is very tasty and restaurant very efficient run by Tony the Maitre de - housekeeping staff so friendly nothing too much trouble. Quite a hilly location so level of fitness required for walking into town and for buses etc. Beautiful panoramic views from the monastery next to the hotel - lots to do and see bus to Sorrento about 20mins - busy place - Capri is worth a visit stunning - also very busy. We stayed overnight in a lovely hotel in Capri booked thru booking .com - was a great way to see Capri and visit Anna Capri and chair lift in the morning . This hotel is a Great base for exploring the Amalfi coast but you have to be willing to walk quite a lot and it is quite a hilly area - nice sleep as area restful and quiet - lots of biz in St Agata a working town 10 mins walk from hotel also some nice small shops too - amazing patisserie - lovely food restaurants also - all in all great value holiday amazing place to stay thanks Yvonne

The charm of this hotel grows on you day by day with the excellent customer service received from all of the staff, starting from the reception through to the bar , restaurant and housekeeping . I don’t think I’ve ever felt so welcome by everyday by each and everyone of them in a hotel before, the hotel is immaculately clean and they can’t do enough for you, we organised all our trips through the hotel for ease and competitiveness even providing in the morning breakfast in a bag if required, The barman remembered all our drinks and what rooms to put the drinks on easily every time. The fact that this is a family hotel and you can see the grandad still in the grounds working with his grandsons is an absolute joy , the swimming pool albeit a little chilly at this time of year (September ) is still refreshing dip once you’re in.The air conditioning in the bedrooms is absolutely superb and a pleasant sleep was had every night , and making up the beds everyday by the housekeeping team the restaurant food, albeit at the beginning of the week felt a little small was actually adequate, and the maitre d’ again, if there was nothing, you didn’t like they would always offer alternatives, although that was not needed for ourselves everything about this hotel was wonderful. I was concerned when we pulled in at the hotel from the airport that it was a little out the way but its only a 10 minute walk down to the town of Saint Agatha. You may need some extra puff to climb the hill back up, but it is ideal for working off all those calories of drinks and food. This is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful location with fabulous staff thank you for making my 60th birthday, a memorable one !

We were informed, 1 week before our holidays, that our reservation was "not taken into account". However, a few months ago, I sent an email to have the confirmation that it was ok and I received a confirmation. My guess is that they found someone who propose more than what I payed. They gave me a random reason, but, as they were able to contact me in order to warn me, they knew that I had a reservation. Avoid to book anything at this place.

We stayed here for 11 nights in August. The hotel is such a hidden gem. On arrival we were met by friendly reception staff. The hotel was spotless! Our room was lovely, big and bright.. also spotless! Couldn't find a speck of dirt anywhere. The hotel is out of the way a bit from sorrento but they offered a free shuttle bus in and out so made it easy to travel back and forth. Sorrento is a 25 minute drive from the hotel. The nearest town, Sant Agata is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and has everything you need. We ate at Buenos Aires restaurant and Orlando. Buenos Aires was gorgeous and would highly recommend but we were very disappointed in the quality of the food in Orlandos.. we had tried quite a lot of Italian pizza by this point and their pizza was what I can onky describe as wet and doughy.. not nice at all. The hotel has a lovely little pool beside it, a pool bar and some gardens, the pool is literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The pool bar do great food and a mean lemonchello spritz. The staff are friendly and eager to help in any way. Tony, the maitre de in the restaurant is great, such a friendly guy. We went half board and the food was amazing. Only negative is, they serve you a 3 course dinner each evening and we found the portion size just too much for us. I would have been more than happy with one main meal and a dessert. The food was of a high standard so only complaint is there was so much of it lol breakfast is buffet style and there is something to suit all tastes. Breads, cheeses, meats, cereal, fruits, yogurt, hot and cold drinks, eggs, bacon, sausages.. yes the sausage and bacon are different to what we get in the UK but I would expect that.. we are in Italy.. we ended up staying a night in Naples when our flight was cancelled and the breakfast we had in the hotel was very similar to the breakfast we had at O Sole Mio so this seems to be the standard Italian breakfast. It suited us.. there wasn't anything we felt they didn't provide. We did a couple of the Jet2 trips.. pompeii, herculaneum and vesuvius. I would recommend them all, although when we come again we would probably take the train from sorrento into pompeii and herculaneum ourselves to give us more time at the sites as the tour does feel rushed. Interesting all the same and we thoroughly enjoyed them all. Sorrento is gorgeous and like I sais before, easily accessible by the free shuttle bus, only negative is, the latest time back is 7.30 pm so you miss the sorrento night life. The monastery beside the hotel is a must to visit.. we had a lovely walk around it, you can get some stunning views from the Bell Tower. We did look into doing the little blue train tour but at £30 each for 2 hrs we decided against it. It does say €20 for 3hrs on the website but this isn't true and hasn't been updates. All in all we have had the best holiday. Only negative about the hotel we could find is the noise. The noise carries across the whole hotel. You can hear the noise fro
