Piazza Mulino 26

Piazza Mulino is well located close to the center of Matera within easy walking distance of the Sassi. It is a simple place, very clean, and comfortable. Great value for money.

Worst experience in staying in independent accommodation. Left in the rain for 1 hour. Tried 18 calls not answered A very unpleasant man turned up and yelled at us in Italian. We felt very intimidated. When we went out we believe someone entered the room and turned off all lights and heating. Nice room but it’s in an apar**ent not a hotel like pictures make you believe. Next morning 1/2 hour before check out we returned back and the angry man was waiting for us. Yelling about lights left on. This was a small bathroom light we’d missed when we went for a walk. He virtually threw us out of the hotel. Standing in front of the bedroom window making us very uncomfortable. Very very unpleasant stay.

結論宿泊出来ませんでした。チェックインに誰も来ず、電話を携帯にしてもオフィスにしても不通。近くにいた老人も手伝ってくれましたが、連絡が取れず、Googleから送ったメッセージも未返信。2時間待ちましたが、連絡が取れないのでキャンセルをし、その場で空いている他の宿を手配。キャンセル手続きをアプリでしたところ、何故キャンセルしたのかと今更連絡が来ました。 キャンセルに応じて貰えないのか、返金もありません。皆さんお気をつけください。

Accomodation is situated a few minutes walk from the Sassi. The apar**ent is very comfortable and quite spacious. We did a self check-in which was very detailed and easy to follow.

Piazza Mulino 26 is in a very good location especially when you just have a few days in Matera. It is close by most the essentials: the Sassi is just some meters away, good restaurants, and cafes. it is also not far from the train or bus terminals. We chose Piazza Mulino 26 mainly because of the accessibility they offer for someone who is in wheelchair. It is one of the few places where you can stay is you need accessibility. The host is also pretty responsive. It was a great stay overall.

This property is in a fantastic location and is very affordable. This is not a hotel. There is no front desk staff. We were able to leave our bags with a maid prior to check in. So that was convenient. We were allowed to enter the premises (alone) around 3pm. Check-in on the website said 3:30…. The girl we spoke to said it was 4:00. Anyway, we had had a long day and needed a nap. Fell asleep around 3:30pm… at 4:00 someone knocked loudly on our door waking us up, rudely demanding papers and the $2 tourist tax. I was so upset at being disturbed that I couldn’t fall back asleep and I felt ill the rest of the day. In addition to the staff’s rudeness there was No toilet paper and no one around to give us any No cup in the bathroom No tissues No sheets on the hide a bed Power went out and again no staff around Lost wifi No do not disturb sign Shower leaking Loud buzzing every minute or so from AC which kept me awake most of the night despite having ear plugs Fridge didn’t work No luggage storage at the end of our stay. Checkout was at 10:00 but we had a tour that began at 10:30… The check in is late and the check out is early. When I sent a message to the establishment , I received an insulting email response in return. Overall it was a terrible experience. Thank goodness we only stayed one night.

Great location with very nice hosts. More importantly the room was very clean and spacious with lots of light. Only minor hiccup with check-in but overall would recommend.

We were charged 8 euro but the owner did not have chnge. She promised to get back to us with 2 euro but never did. The entry gate at the front entrance does not work from inside. We had to walk upstairs and through the back gate. The bed cover was very dirty. When we called with issues the owner was very irritated and never showed up again

Very nice room located close to the historical center.
