Riu Palace Mauritius - All Inclusive - Adults Only

We stayed at the Riu Palace in October 2024, it's easier I think to just summarise the pros and cons to this property. Overall for the price it was definitely worth it. It did not come with the luxury price tag so you can't expect luxury when staying here. Firstly we stayed in the elite club room, I think it is worth the extra money for this, as you get an extra bar, snack place, restaurant, along with late check out, room service and another pool you're allowed to use with cabanas. Although this pool is very cold and not heated like the other. Anyway here is a summary. Pros Good location - Although the beach on the hotel is very windy, if you come out of the hotel on the beach and turn right onto le morne public beach, the wind almost disappears. Very clean - rooms cleaned daily and they're always cleaning up all areas of the hotel Food is plentiful and lots to chose from If anyone from the joining turquoise hotel tried to come into the palace they were swiftly sent back Hotel is truly 24/7 all inclusive and adults only which is actually very rare on the island we found after long research, which is why we chose the riu palace. Staff are friendly and always willing to help with a smile. Rooms are spacious and big. There is entertainment at night however, it's very much the same every night, and kids orientated. Premium liquor in the bar areas. Good location for kite surfers. . Cons Mini bar was only topped up when we asked at reception, everytime they told us they should be doing it daily, they never did. We stayed 10 nights and only had it refilled 3 times. Service in the sit down restaurants is very slow, and they run out of food in them. Riu turquoise guests and kids can get in easily to the palace hotel, although they do get told to leave, they do come back as it is the better side of the hotel. The snack bar by the pool served the same food everyday with no change. The beach that the hotel has chairs on is very very windy and cold, and you can hardly swim in the sea by the hotel, you do have to walk to the public beach round the corner. Only the main swimming pool seemed to be heated, all the others were very cold. Sometimes there was no one serving at the coffee bar, which made waiting times a bit long. You cannot book the restaurants on the app, it does not work, you have to request bookings at reception. Trying to use the app is a waste of time. The gym is very small and had equipment broken There wasn't much entertainment or music around the pools so there wasn't much of a vibe, it was pretty quiet. . . So overall we were happy with the holiday for the price we paid, but I wouldn't go here expecting luxury.

Spend there 10 days at the end of october/beginning of november. What a beautiful place! Nice, renovated hotel, very pleasant staff. Although weather could been better. If you plan to spend holiday on Mauritius, i would definitely recomend this hotel…

A great vacation! Upon arrival, we were met at the reception by Owen, who told us everything down to the smallest detail. Many thanks to him for his regular help in solving our issues. Everything was extremely great. The room was very nice with a view of the Elite Club pool and the ocean. Someone wrote about poor sound insulation. Nothing like that. Well, either we got quiet neighbors or I'm deaf :) The food is good. But I will say the only "BUT" about the food at the hotel. There is very little seafood in the main restaurant (fish does not count). Alakart restaurants are great. I would especially like to mention Elite Club and Kristal. Kristal in particular, everything is wonderful from meeting and meals to seeing off. The Elite Club bar has an excellent selection of drinks. Special thanks to Dharsynee and Lill. The Waterfall bar is a separate topic. After each morning walk and after lunch, we went there on purpose. The atmosphere is just wonderful. Vish, I hope you will read this review :) You are great, thank you so much for the mood and the positivity that you convey to the guests. They find a personal approach to each guest. Many thanks to Temitayo at the Elite Club breakfast veranda for her excellent work and attitude towards the guests. Many thanks to Vikash, who met us at the restaurant every day at lunch and asked if everything was okay. Thank you for his kindness and good mood. As a result, a great vacation. Even the strong wind, except for the last 2 days, did not prevent us from spending it well. I really liked it, and I thought about visiting again! PS I apologize if I misspelled someone's name.

Compliments 2 all the team perfect , buffet ,amazing restaurant, amazing , location , amazing service , all the team so friendly what can i say " i will come again its a paradise on earth i upgrade u for me u a 5 star hotel . The price is also very fair . 100/100 point .

We had a great 10 night stay. The staff were very friendly. Our favourite was John who worked on the seating outside in the main restaurant. He couldn't do enough for you, and always worked with a smile on his face. His friendly nature made our trip. The rooms were very nice, and always clean and tidy. Plenty of space, with good bathrooms and everything you'd need. We thought the mini-bar which was always stocked up as a good touch, especially with the big bottles of water. We booked this hotel due to the restaurants it had but we were very disappointed to find out how hard it was to book them. You can book 48 hours in advance, but they become available from midnight. So if you want to book into one on Wednesday you need to be on your phone at midnight Sunday, going into Monday morning. The restaurants will get fully booked if you wait until the morning. We felt the app was pretty poor for bookings, it wouldn't tell you if a restaurant was closed, nor give you proper details on the restrictions. When we arrived on Monday morning we were told the next two days of restaurants were fully booked, and then they were not open on Thursday. This meant we could not book into one until Friday at the earliest, which is 4 days in our 10 night holiday. The main buffet was very good, the food always to a good standard with plenty to eat for everyone. We did get to try all four restaurants and again they were very good. The steak and asian were the highlights. The reception staff were kind to help us book the steak restaurant for our anniversary as a special request. Another area the hotel can improve is with the coffee bar, it's a great facility, but for some reason does not open until 10am, which is strange. If you want a nice coffee before 10am you have to go into the sports bar in the next hotel. It would be nice if the coffee bar opened early for those going out on trips and missing breakfast, or those wanting a early morning coffee. (The filter coffee at breakfast is fine, but not as good). The entertainment was lacking overall. The evening music or singers outside the main bar was nice, and having this on throughout the evening would be great. But always finished fairly early. There was no entertainment around the pool during the day. The sports bar was okay, but didn't have the same selection of drinks as the other bars. Also with it being in the other hotel, there was often kids running around playing pool. With it being 24 hour, I felt it could be good to have some choices for hot food in there. Whilst the pastries were fine, there were sandwiches left in the fridge which didn't look appetising. Overall the hotel was good, but we felt it was missing some improvements such booking restaurants, the coffee bar, and sports bar. But it has all the facilities to be good. The staff were great, and the Island was beautiful. If you're going onto the beach, go out the hotel and right around the corner, it's much less windy around there and

Very very very comfortable relaxing stay. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Vish at the pool bar made the best drinks. Stella was amazing at meal times. The food and drinks were exceptional (loved the lattes). Perfect location to relax and enjoy. The rooms were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Highly recommended.
