Mar Sol Bungalows & Hotel

Stayed over Christmas, the staff was very friendly and rooms were clean. they come through every day to clean and tidy up. Most suites have kitchenettes and the hotel has some cooking items to offer. Many long stay gringos use the hotel for several months, they were friendly and inviting, as well as helpful. About 100 pesos to the big supermarkets for food and supplies, plenty of good restaurants nearby. Although it is technically in the Golden Zone, it is the farthest end of it.

Couldn't be happier here! I was looking for a place to stay long term here in Mazatlan, Mexico. I knew I wanted something in the Hotel Zone and near the beach and I've found the perfect spot. Miguelina and Ernesto could not have been nicer checking me and made me feel welcome. I really like the one bedroom in the back of the complex they put me in. There's a pool and patio area for relaxing. The property is right across the street from beach with lots of bars and restaurants nearby - plus because the unit is in the back away from the street so it's quieter. The bungalow itself is a nice mix of modern design with some traditional Mexican touches that are very cool. The Mar Sol Bungalows are located on the north end of the Zona Dorada so you will need to take the green bus into town or have transportation if you want to get to the city center -- but really there's plenty of options for entertainment nearby so that's not an issue. For the area (Zona Dorada, beach) it's a good value I think. There are cheaper accomodations available but they are further away, inland or not as nice -- when I looked around this was the best deal I've found. Been here a couple of days and I really like it!
