Hamilton Court

We are currently walking the Cami de Cavalls which entails walking a 185km route around the whole of Minorca.. meaning the company we’ve used booked accommodation at various stops en route as well as pick ups etc. We arrived at Hamilton Court around 2.30pm .. and were first of all surprised to find reception was closed with a sign saying to find staff in an office downstairs.. which we did, so she then came back upstairs to reception (still not sure why she couldn’t just stay in reception?) We checked in and for the first time this trip (including two hostels) we were told they are keeping our passports until they complete their details later.. which felt a little strange considering everyone else did it there and then.. anyway, we were told our room is ready and given our key for room 210.. I would also comment the receptionist was not the most welcoming of staff.. We got the lift to our floor only to find the cleaner still servicing our room and would be “Una hora” so we left our cases and went for a late lunch.. on return, this was our first opportunity to really look at what we had .. Oh my goodness.. we understand families on a smaller budget will have limited choice and likely this accommodation will be an option, but there’s budget accommodation, and there’s unsafe accommodation.. We found An electrical socket hanging from the wall Stained toilet pan Rusty taps where they’re so old A kitchen from the 1980s (can honestly think the units were as old as the apar**ents) Very dated furniture Even the windows felt unsafe.. the type if a small child ran into would shatter into a million pieces or if the balcony door slammed there’d be glass everywhere. Hilariously, on the balcony there are flower beds with some dried up something and a sign actually asking you to water them.. The whole place just felt unsafe and dirty.. not unclean, as the cleaner left it as clean as it would come up.. . We decided to sit by the pool and consider our options.. it just got funnier.. the sunbed I sat on nearly fell through completely and the next one broke when I tried raising the head rest.. having found a safe one (just) we sat and pondered and even then, ended up back at the room as the smell of drains was so overwhelming We booked a night at another hotel and on checking in explained our situation and to remain fair to Hamilton Court didn’t mention them.. but the receptionist said without prompting “was it the Hamilton Court?” It’s such a shame as it could be so beautiful, but now looks so out of place in Santo Tomas

What an absolutely awesome stay we had. We arrived on the 30th April when the hotel was opening its doors to the start of the season so were expecting maybe a few new season hiccups….. but there was nothing of the sort. The rooms were spotless and extremely well presented. The food was AMAZING! Being a vegetarian I was worried that an all inclusive offer would not be of great option but I was very wrong. There was a fish choice everyday from salmon to swordfish and red mullet to sea bass. Cooked fresh in front of you on the hot plate. An amazing salad bar with plenty of choice and cooked fresh veg everyday. Hubby wasn’t lacking on the meat front either….. pork, chicken, duck, rabbit - just delicious! Pasta station, theme evenings I could go on and on - the breakfast was fab too… fresh omelettes cooked to your liking, naughty waffles and sauces, pastries, yoghurt, cereal, cooked brekkie …again so much choice! The pool area was lovely with really helpful pool bar staff, lots of bed options and the close proximity to the beach was amazing. Entertainment was varied- the Bruno mars tribute act was fab with lots of soul classics thrown in too. A quiz night, a magician that was so cool, guitarist, all really great. So very, very clean in all areas- not one bit of rubbish did I see all week. The resort of Santó Tomás is very small with a handful of bars and restaurants- El pins is lovely! Bus stop out front goes to Mahon(new capital) and Ciutadella (old capital) throughout the day for 7 euros if you want to get out and about. If you’re after a break away from it all with great food, beach, people and hotel then this is the one for you. We’ll be back!

The lord Nelson was a lovely hotel. It was spotless and staff were really nice. Breakfast was cold fried eggs, pancakes and omelette were cold and not cooked and given to the customer. Dinner again was cold. Chefs couldn’t speak English so we couldn’t ask what was in the. People have allergies and no ingredients shown is not good

I don't recommend. Houseflies in the restaurant. Lots of houseflies. They are everywhere, even cooked in pasta. Disgusting, they walk on food. Nobody does anything about it. The worst hotel we have ever been to.

We have just returned home from a wonderful holiday. The appar**ent was so spacious , modern yet homely. We immediately felt comfortable here , and welcomed by the lovely receptionists. The pool is not the biggest , but being a nervous swimmer it was perfect for me and my grandson . We will definitely come back next year to this good value for money and vomfortable hotel! We also love Santo Tomas and the very friendly people.

The room would need to be restored and renovated. The courtesy room is only a bathroom. Personal is friendly.

Well maintained property with loads of support available from reception and the rest of the staff. Location was very good, close to the beach, easily accessible and good amenities around (especially a car rental office located on the property) Great sea and pool views.

Nice and quiet area. Really vacation! Beautiful beach!
