We arrived in Milos by way of a stay at the Elements Boutique in Sifnos, which was superb and gets a 5 star rating, but that’s for another review at another time… We arrived in Milos having travelled by a Jetcat called Champion Jet 2 which was excellent. We then picked our car up from RaC Car Rental unquestionably the most amateur and worst car rental company I have experienced they get a 1 star rating and that is only because I can’t give 0, that is also for another review at another time. So our review of Milos Cove Inception Resort goes like this…. We hated it, when I say we hated it our dislike of our time there is a visceral and profound dislike. The hotel sits at the end of one of the worst and hardest drives you will have to make to a hotel in Europe, you are basically driving through a disused quarry to get there and it’s a bone shaker. At night the drive is one of the scariest things I have ever made…. It’s is 3km once you leave ‘proper’ road at the church on to the hotel and at night it’s unlit which is TERRIFYING and not a little dangerous . Their is no clearly communicated correspondence from the hotel to inform you of this before hand… it may be buried in some *********** correspondence but frankly it lacks any proper/appropriate transparency… you literally have no idea what car to hire and we of course took a Renault Clio, not at all suitable. Milos Cove blab on “ Indicatively, the last 3 km of the road leading to Milos Cove, present historical interest and we advise our esteemed guests for a 4x4 rental” This in NO way gives you any concept of the reality of your journey… On arrival you are collected at the car park and driven by golf buggy to the reception, you step from light into dark which is kind of freaky and I found it unpleasant, the hotels owner I think describes it as creating ‘atmosphere’, truth being its just pretentious. I think the metaphor is to step from darkness into light, not vice a versa. My dislike really embedded when on checkin I was asked if we had brought any DRONES with us, I asked why would I have done that? The receptionist then explained gleefully that they get a lot of influencers staying as the location is just peachy… and my heart sank. The concierge a lovely and helpful person Fontini then gave us a tour of the hotel starting with the SPA and a not very suitable sales pitch for massages and the virtues of obsidian stone and how it has the power to take away anger. To travellers that were hot and sweaty and really just needed their room and a shower after a long journey it was just crass but that I am afraid is what Milos Cove is… The complex is compact and it looks lovely, the attention to detail is good and the rooms are nice, as they should be (entry level £725 per night) you do get breakfast thrown in but at that price you should and its not as if you can pop out for an alternative Adamantas is 7km away and 3km of that is hellish roads…. The staff are mostly pleasant and obliging. The
