Three friends and I booked 4 rooms at Casa Amorino. A lot of research goes into choosing our annual trip to a European hotel or b&b, and Casa Amorino was even better than we thought it would be. It is a family run b&b in a wonderful quiet location and everyone was so welcoming, friendly and charming; politely leaving us alone unless we needed something. The delightful Simone and Carmen, his very efficient sister, are front of house as they speak English and nothing is too much trouble. Carmen is very knowledgeable about local restaurants and places to see and she happily booked restaurants and taxis for us. She is a gem with an enormous amount of patience as we changed our mind on arrangements several times. Nothing was too much trouble. It was such a wonderful bonus to relax and enjoy the oasis of their peaceful, pretty garden which is looked after by Demetrio, Carmen’s Papa. In the evening their garden Lemon Lounge Bar is the perfect setting to enjoy Carmen’s amazing cocktails, plus an excellent list of gins, all very reasonably priced. A generous selection of snacks were served, including some very tasty ones made by Cristina, Carmen’s Mamma. Aunt Elena and her colleague ensured everywhere was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable, made with good quality bed linen. The newly fitted Mosquito screens were really appreciated. A great selection of hot and cold food was served at breakfast in the gardens by either Elena or Simone. The cakes, especially the chocolate one with hazelnuts, the bacon and fried and scrambled eggs come highly recommended by us as do their home grown tomatoes which are gorgeous. Having visited Amalfi, Positano and Ravello, we were so glad we chose to stay in Minori as it is an authentic Italian town with some great restaurants and cafe/bars and not packed with tourists. We sadly left after 3 nights, wishing we were staying for a week.
