Fauna Montevideo

If you appreciate excellent taste, quiet retreats and beautifully curated collections, then this is the place for you. We had originally booked 5 nights here, but needed to arrive a day earlier which was helpfully arranged, and we thoroughly enjoyed our entire stay. Walking distance to everywhere, Uber distance to everywhere else, don't hesitate to make Fauna your home away from home. I mean, it's far lovelier than my home, but our shoulders dropped in relaxation the moment we stepped inside.

We had an amazing stay at Fauna Montevideo. The accommodation is great, very quiet, spacious, modern and nicely decorated. the shower is great and the bed is very comfortable. The location is very central and felt safe. The lounge area is beautiful. Above all, Jeronimo's attention, helpfulness and flexibility was what we loved the most. He was very communicative and flexible even before we arrived, and very helpful when we were in the city. Highly reccomenda Fauna to anyone looking for a place to stay in Montevideo.

WOW!!! What an amazing stay!! I stayed here for a majority of my time in MVD. On my late night arrival Eduardo greeted me outside the hotel and ensured everything for a seamless check-in. He’s even a great map drawer. The space is SO THOUGHTFULLY curated. The vibe is great. Common area has local liqueurs available to guests at anytime (also fruits too!). The room was very clean. Loved the minimalist vibe. The next day, I met Jeronimo and this guy is amazing! He literally assisted me with any and every question I had. He also set me up with an amazing reservation at Primuseum on Sunday where there were very little options for eating. He provided so many tips and information about Uruguay. The entire staff was available by WhatsApp 24/7. They readily answered any questions I had. This was the best stay and as someone who works in hospitality (airline and hotel), I highly recommend this hotel. This is the place if you are in Montevideo. It’s also near everything along with the best restaurants in the city. STAY HERE!

Gorgeous wee hotel in the old quarter within easy strolling distance of bars, restaurants, galleries, shops and downtown. On a quiet pedestrian street, this stylish place has lovely rooms with comfy beds and pillows, really good WiFi, big shower rooms and a decent size fridge and coffee selection. It also has a really cool lounge/reception area which is not always manned, but the staff are so helpful they sent me a WhatsApp every night with suggestions of what to do, and you could reach them at all times. I really enjoyed my stay in this little gem of a place. 🥰

The Fauna Hotel is a jewel in Ciudad Vieja. It is a historic building remodeled with exquisite taste by its owners (an architect and an antique furniture dealer). They utilize well preserved original pieces from the 50’s. The remodeling project made excellent use of natural illumination, marble, and wood. The facilites are completely modern, comfortable, and spotless. In addition, the hotel is well situated near restaurants, historic attractions, the port, and the rambla. It is truly the place to stay in Montevideo.

Perfection. FAUNA is easily in the top 3 of the 100s of hotels I have every stayed in around the world. First, my room and the entire building are stunning - and extremely comfortable. I slept so well each night of my stay. Jero and Sero did a beautiful job with the design of the hotel. On top of the comfort, the service was beyond 5 star. Jero made sure I had everything I needed to ensure I had a great time in Montevideo - from incredible restaurant recommendations to suggestions on things to do. He proactively reached out to make sure I had this info before I even had a chance to ask that is how good he is and shows how much he cares that their guests have the best trip possible. FAUNA is truly a special place to stay and I look forward to staying again when I return to Montevideo.
