Amazing Hotel - Amazing! Amazing Staff, Amazing Ameneties, Amazing Breakfast, Amazing location with surrounding park, palace de Artes and close to Jacinto restaraunt. Everything about the Alma Histórica Boutique Hotel is simply amazing. We stayed for the weekend, traveling over on Thursday on Buquebus from Buenos Aires. Saw all the sites in Montevideo and then went to Colonia del Sacramento on Saturday. Flew back on Argentina Airlines on Sunday. Amazing experience and don't miss Jacinto. That restaraunt is insanely delicious. Did we mention "amazing" enough? One of our most memorable and best weekend trips ever! Would come back anytime and stay at the Alma in Montevideo for how nice the staff is, the beauty of the property and the location. Simply amazing!

Hotel was conveniently located in historic district. Full of charm and distinction. Clean and well appointed with comfortable bed. Lots of charm with themed rooms based on Uruguay historical figures. We enjoyed our stay although brief.

This hotel is a real gem, tucked away in a quiet square in the Ciudad Vieja between downtown Montevideo and the Mercado del Puerto. Each room has its own particular character along with a few signature objects. Nothing is too much trouble for the helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable beds, excellent facilities and plenty of tranquility. Not to forget the excellent breakfasts and the rooftop terrace.

We were two couples who stayed here for 3 nights during our first trip to Montevideo. I booked directly with the hotel (which I always recommend) and overall service was great. Emmanuel and Nelson help to organize tours, dinner reservations and recommendations for vineyard visits. Hotel has a great location in Old Town, so walking distance to most of the places you will visit. A big disappoin**ent was that there was no Nespresso machine in our room. In 2023, this is now almost standard and for sure must be expected in a “boutique hotel”. Another negative was that there was no bar at this hotel to enjoy an evening cocktail or beer. Overall a very nice hotel some some room for improvement.

We stayed here for one night in mid-January and found it to be a wonderful location, right in the heart of the old city. We were walking distance to the port, areas of the old town, and many attractions and plazas. The staff was very friendly and happy to answer questions in English, recommending restaurants and sights to see. They were also happy to hold our luggage for us the day we checked out until our afternoon departure. Each room is apparently unique, and ours was beautiful, with a comfortable bed and an obviously updated bathroom with modern fittings and conveniences. Our room was on the first floor (one above ground level) and we did hear some road noise in the morning as the city started walking, so if you're concerned about noise you may want to request a higher floor. Breakfast was included in our stay and had very good options, both hot and cold.

Alma is a wonderfully quaint boutique hotel on a lovely city park in the center of the Old Town. Very convenient to restaurants, museums, water, etc.
The staff is attentive, friendly and helpful. If you are looking for an authentic Uruguay experience, this is for you.

This quaint boutique hotel is located in the heart of Old Town Montevideo. The room was spacious, well appointed and with excellent amenities. The library on the first floor is a charming and cozy place to relax and read. The rooftop is a wonderful place to relax and watch the sunset. Breakfast was yummy. The staff was excellent (especially Nelson)!

The hotel team were so welcoming, kind, and informative. The hotel is in a lovely location and the property itself is incredible. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the view from the rooftop and the hot tub. Highly recommend.
