I just wanted to add my review as I really rely on these reviews before booking somewhere. Let's start with the positives: The hotel itself - the family room - was fantastic. Really comfortable and well equipped. We've never stayed anywhere so nice and having Zack and the ski shop in the hotel itself was convenient. Importantly I would say it is NOT ski in ski out, you have to ski down a path, remove your skis, cross a small road, and walk a short distance to the ski lift carrying your skis (about 5 mins). Then you have to work out how to find the path to ski back (past the Solarium), stop, remove skis, cross the road again and walk down a set of metal stairs carrying your skis. It was no biggie for us as our kids are 16 and 12 but it would be more challenging with younger kids (ie it is not the kind of ski in where you literally ski to and from the door of your ski locker). La Rosiere is a beautiful resort and even in peak UK half term it was quiet and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a lift. This is completely different to somewhere like La Plagne and makes for really nice skiing. We also had amazing weather which helped! The staff at the hotel were also in the main delightful and very responsive, including the cleaning team. So, the less positive. We had a vegetarian in our family and having read the reviews saying how awful the catering was for vegetarians I emailed ahead to make sure things had improved since Christmas. I was assured they had been but we approached our first meal with trepidation. My daughter was offered a "bouquet of legumes" as her main course in the set menu. This was literally a side dish of carrot batons and celeriac. Needless to say I went and complained to the front desk, showing them a photo. Things did improve a bit but, being honest, the evening meals were just massively inconsistent for all of us, not just her as the vegetarian. It just felt like the hotel was let down by the kitchen. We gave our feedback patiently every time there was an issue and the hotel did seem to listen and try. I was especially impressed with the hotel's general manager Maud who made sure she found our family to see what she could do to improve our experience. I do think they are trying but it is really rather disappointing to not have vegetarians well catered for, especially in a resort which is trying to operate more sustainably. We should all eat less meat! Maud did also explain to me how much cheaper the half board is per evening than buying a la carte and this was interesting to factor into our experience. I would also say at busy times, book in to eat as soon as the kitchen opens at 1830. It gets very busy later in the evening and we saw lots of guests (including many with children) wait a long time to be served. In summary, go into it with your eyes wide open. If you are a super fussy eater, you will be disappointed or even angry. But if you can be fair minded, laugh about the bad meals wh
