Wonderful service as soon as we checked in until we checked out. The facilities , the spa , the restaurants and the food were all first class The location is absolutely beautiful as well The staff were so friendly and were always incredibly helpful and polite

Firstly let me say that this hotel has all the makings of being a good 5* hotel, the setting, the hotel decor, the ambience etc, the room was exceptional and set right on the sea front. However it has major issues regarding customer service particularly around the restaurants, bars and haute living, minor gripes first regarding the room, no cups for the coffee machine, beautiful white sofa covered in dirty marks, shower door that won't stay closed and no sun loungers or umbrella on arrival had to ask for these. We booked this hotel due to the fact it offers three different styles of restaurants, we paid to have a dine around package, however on check we were told that the Makirs restaurant would not be open until 12/5, this is after we return home. The two remaining restaurants, one being the Raw was offering a very limited menu which only included sushi and fish dishes, differing from the menu on the hotels website, this left us with only one restaurant the 1962 which offered us the same menu every single night for the week we were there, again a very limited menu selection. As mentioned on previous reviews the restaurant has some serious staff issues. One particular night we waited half and hour to be told the wine we chose was not available, we then choose another bottle and waited for another 45mins before this arrived, by the time the wine arrived we had already had our starters! After two hours of waiting for plates to be cleared and mains to arrive we decided not to wait any longer and left the restaurant, at no point during this time were we told of any technical issues. If this is the case what's wrong with the old fashioned pen and paper and customer communication. Breakfast, the food was always luke warm and ordering and receiving a cup of coffee was hit and miss. If you were lucky enough to get your coffee which again was warm, ordering a second cup was not an option. Haute Living - apart from the fact that this is in a separate building across the main road, again was not worth having. The first day we went across around 13.30hrs and there was lovely spread of food and wine and beer to chose from. However the next day again around 1345hrs and for the rest of the week, there was no food, no white wine, when a member of staff was asked where food was she didn't know. However when pushed the food arrived around 1415hrs, as did the wine and beer. This is meant to be exclusive to guests that have paid to have this option available and should have hot and cold food available though out the day. As a summary, this week here was not worth the money paid as the hotel has not delivered what was expected. Apologies from senior staff on the last day, and an explanation of how they are going to rectify it moving forwards, is not going to help the guests who's holiday has now finished!

Hotel is great. Hotel restaurant, 1962 Restaurant, is another story. Service was poor. Food was delivered lukewarm. Medium steak delivered almost raw. Cocktail and wine order were forgotten. Too bad restaurant did not match hotel. Strange thing is breakfast was fantastic.

Premium price paid for 1 star offering and service. The hotel is nicely situated and has potential to be a premium offering. The staff are all very pleasant but totally lack organisational skills. As I write there is only one restaurant open which produces the same menu as the previous evening, if you are vegan you will be severely disappointed. Tonight there were many customers like ourselves who had to experience a two hour ordeal to receive an evening meal. The wine requested they had run out of and had no suitable alternative, there was not a consideration to how we felt. We then waited 25 minutes for a bread bowl followed by a further 25 minutes to receive our starter, which had to go back as it was wrong, a further 20 minute wait. The catch of the day was Sea bass which was delivered tepid after a 50 minute wait. The F & B Manager accepted responsibility and was apologetic, it was too late in the evening to wait for a replacement meal. We were not the only table to raise concerns this evening, there were 6 other tables in our vicinity that had also suffered the incompetence of the operation. What has been presented as a premium package and been paid for by all leaves an unpalatable taste on the experience. They present themselves as a wellness retreat, in all my experiences you cannot successfully operate both models without having a secluded offering for the wellness retreaters. Seating 20 plus on the retreat and attempting to satisfy your main guests of which there are more definitely overloaded the kitchen. We all come away to relax from the stress of normal life so why should guests be subjected to early morning boom box exercise with film crew to create social media content for their wellness appeal. A consideration for main stream guests who wish to enjoy the quiet and tranquil early morn is not too much to ask, a start at 10:00 am as opposed to 08:30 would be appropriate. On current status this hotel is in serious need of a organisational change to reflect what they are attempting to be. I have enjoyed Marriot premium resorts across the globe and believed this break would be no different, unfortunately after two nights here we are longing to leave. We will not participate in any further evenings at this resort and will be elsewhere on the island spending additional money as we have lost faith in this resort. Never again.

This was the nicest Hotel I've ever stayed in. We booked 6 nights for the first half of our honeymoon and had the most amazing experience. From the moment we checked in the service was impeccable. We were offered a refreshing drink and could check in seated outside by the sea. A delicious dessert and bottle of fiz on arrival to our sea view room. Plenty of sun loungers and towel available and staff bring you fresh water and ice. The pool bar food and drinks were very good quality. Breakfast was outstanding, there wasn't anything they didn't have. The hotel is immaculate, calming and restorative. The a**osphere is healing and relaxing. Could not recommend this place enough. Hotel was only a short walk to moratika where you can find supermarkets and a greek tavern serving delicious authentic Greek cuisine. Overall a wonderful place to honeymoon

The grounds are beautiful but I’m rating it a 3 because I expected it to be a 5 star resort. It’s more like a 4 star so I went it with false expectations. The people are all very kind, concierge is great. Housekeeping came only twice during my 5 night visit. They came every night for turndown but only made the bed and left me water. Coffee pods were never replaced, I had to reuse the coffee cups as those were not refilled either. Small hand towels/washcloths were never refilled during my 5 day stay. The food was average. I expected a lot more, I go to Greece purely for the food, and it didn’t wow me. Much of it needed seasoning and was missing something. The service at the beach was hit and miss. Once I sat at the beach bar for 30 minutes before someone noticed me. It’s probably the best hotel on the island, but as my travel agent previously told me, Ionian islands don’t quite cater to those expecting 5 star service.

Absolutely sensational, living the dream. The dress code made a welcome change when it seems to have slipped elsewhere. The request to NOT grab beech sun beds at sunrise was totally ignored. Service 100%÷ food and beverages 100%÷ We will be back

This has to be one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in ! We had half board in the haute living suite area, it was incredible the sea views are stunning I’ve never chilled so quickly on a holiday. With us both being publicly well known and living busy lives this is a hotel where you can completely switch off and be surrounded by beauty and peace. We loved the restaurant the food was Michelin star quality and the wines were excellent. The breakfast buffet is outstanding the best I’ve ever had in a hotel abroad. Rooms are spotless and staff are so friendly I also went to the spa which was amazing. The evening entertainment was so classy and cocktails were great. In the haute living Irene was amazing you have drinks and canapés on tap all day long. This hotel provided us with a dream holiday and by far exceeded our expectations we really can’t wait to return thank you all so much for giving us an amazing time Peter & Steph Shilton x

Okay, so we arrived on the 6th of June for 1 week, We had an emerald beach view room which was lovely. However there were a couple of things that could be improved. There is only one bedside drawer, the other side is a painted tree stump, which looked nice but not at all practical. Also just one sink in the bathroom and again no drawers or even baskets to put your bits in. You don’t need to bring shampoo, conditioner, body wash or lotion, it’s fully stocked with byredo which is just lovely. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and the air conditioning worked beautifully and was fairly quiet. The room was always cleaned very well. Something that needs to be put right ASAP is the lack of privacy between you and your neighbours! They can see right into your room for the balcony/terrace. The beach isn’t any where near to being shingle, or pebble, it’s almost like a builder’s hardcore, so sea shoes are a must. Also the beds and umbrellas are very hard to move about, and if you love being in the shade then you might want to think about laying around the pool, which I didn’t like because it was to loud being so close to the bar area. Once in the sea it’s just heavenly, so warm and shallow, but look out for the jellyfish. This hotel really needs to offer some kind of water taxi or shuttle bus service that’s affordable , as the local town is very rundown, however it does have most of what you need, supermarket, pharmacy, ect ect. The restaurant called Bella vista is up by the church, well worth the uphill walk, views and food were great. The hotel has it own boat which cost 100 euros pp one way to take you into the old town, or for 2000 euros you can have it for the day. Breakfast was lovely, however I’m not a fan of egg’s that aren’t cooked to order, omelettes are, but fried eggs and poached were just sitting there. Overall we had a lovely time, and would return for maybe 4 days rather than a week purely because of its location. To the righ of the hotel there are lots of beach tavernas, food was horrible and it was all a bit Benidorm. Also behind us in the hills was the loudest cockerel in world, most certainly didn’t need an alarm clock. (No fault of the hotel’s) This hotel is like marmite, you will either love it or hate it. We loved it, but not it’s location or the surrounding area.
