Sun N Sand Resort & Conventional Center

We were 7 families, 36 people in total for a retreat. *What we liked*: The rooms in the apartment block were spacious, airy and the beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodated our many requests. Some found that their balcony door was not working, water heater faulty, and the maintenance team responded fairly quickly. Some items didn’t function well. The hotel is right by the beach and we could go out for walks and a swim in the ocean. We made a last minute request from the Head of Admin and he accommodated us. He was flexible and open to hearing us out. A big thank you to Lennox who served us wholeheartedly and David for extending grace. *What we didn’t like*: Rooms could do with a bit more furniture: barstools, a seat in the master, more bins (we didn’t have a bin in our bathroom) The beds in the master bedrooms were quite high. Perhaps a stool to be the vertically challenged During check-in no one helped us to the room or explained how things work, e.g. how to make hot water run, who to call for help etc. The welcome can be improved. Food: during meals and teas items would run out and replenishing was slow. The meals were lacking in culinary excellence and variety. Nevertheless chef McKenzie threw down an awesome brown ugali specifically for us.

I wouldn't want to go back. Our experience withmy family was bad, the rooms were really filthy, no variety of food, dirty towels,worn out bedsheets,non functional AC and to make it worse the reception have no training to talk to client especially a lady called Esther. it was not worth our coin. Please dont take bookings when you know how the situation of the room is. i remember my aunt falling down while on her bed. That was the climax of our trip. Not recommend.

The food is very good but there is no variety. You'd want to see something new in the buffet but naah. The view is really amazing, like it's so breathtaking. About the service, people can stay for 5+ hours without getting rooms after check in. Like my family got there at 6 am and got a room at 4 pm! All in the name of housekeeping, what a joke! They have poor housekeeping services, poor maintenance of facilities (like the swimming pools aren't cleaned), and some of their staff really don't know boundaries between them and guests, which really shouts lack of professionalism, and this really put me off about the place. I had fun when I went to the beach, interacted with some of the staff and guests and the ambience was immaculate, but I am definitely not returning here again!

I had a somewhat mixed experience. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful, going out of their way to assist with any requests. The service was definitely a highlight of my stay. However, there were a few areas where the hotel fell short. The internet connection was unreliable, which was frustrating for both work and leisure. Additionally, the hotel seemed understaffed at times, leading to longer wait times and less attentive service. The buffet meals, while decent, became repetitive after a few days. It would be nice to see more variety or themed dining options. Despite these drawbacks, I still enjoyed my stay overall.

It's a wonderful place. I recommend it for your; leisure, holidays, business retreats, conferences, your family weekend, couples in honeymoon. The reception, rooms hygiene, dinning with a variety of choices, swimming pools and a clean sandy beach.

My experience with my friends at sun N Sand was super great. I highly recommend them to everyone looking for a pocket friendly beach front hotel in Mombasa. The hotel offers great services starting from the staff, very friendly and welcoming. Delicious food buffet style. Executive Suites are very spacious, clean & equipped with comfy sitting rooms & balconies enabling stunning views of the Indian Ocean. A big thanks to David who carefully went beyond our expectations to see that we had an experience of a lifetime. God bless you. I will surely come back!
