This hotel is super! The stuff the food!

Read the five star reviews online and you will know you have read the reviews of those who have fallen for the lipstick. Underlying that lipstick is the pig. We are here at this hotel now and thus far have spent the entire first day attempting to settle on a room. We booked through an agent and prepaid so we are stuck. We figure we are paying about $500 a night with dinner and breakfast. Both of which we have now found out are ‘chow lines.’ No sit down meals provided. Two night stay. Our room has been “cooling” for about three hours now and has reached 29C/84F. Maintenance came and said all of the units are undersized. They have since changed our room. The new AC is operating the same. It is becoming clear that they have no intention of cooling rooms. This new room also has the added bonus of a toilet behind a clear glass door. AND, no ceiling above that toilet to separate it from the room. Yes there is a beautiful pool and lobby. Yes they have trained animals that play about the main grass. But, if you wish to stay in a comfortable hotel that puts even minimal money in the actual rooms, this is not the choice. Update *** it’s 10PM and they have attempted to move us into a third room. The front desk is doing their best and for once in my life I am that customer who can’t be satisfied. I always swore I wouldn’t be. The new room 29C/84F. The owners have made a decision recently to turn off compressors on AC units. Etosha is hot. 55 countries. Hundreds maybe thousands of hotel stays. This has been the worst hotel experience I have ever had. And, for insane money. The staff has done all they can to make things right, except tell us what we already know. The owners have decided 84F/29C is the temperature of your room. Sadly, our room has no screen so we are unable to just shut it off and open the windows. Maddening. Stuck here for two nights. Please don’t make the same mistake we did, just because they had a pretty lobby and pool.
