Top Joe's Townhouse

How disappointing. I was locked out of the townhouse on the evening. With no on site presence and the emergency telephone line not answered I had to get a taxi to Haverfordwest and pay for alternative accommodation. No apology, numerous promises of call backs disregarded. I would steer clear. Poor service and incompetent management will spoil any experience you have here.

We arrived late, after a five hour drive through a Force 8 mist, and from the moment of our arrival we were very warmly welcomed by the team at Top Joe’s. We had a small double room right up in the Gods with the comfiest mattress we have ever slept on (eat your heart out Premier Inn). Our pizza supper, next to a roaring log fire was perfect. Small portions? No problem. Pudding to share? No problem. Zero % beer? No problem. The staff were all so kind and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I don’t understand some of the moaning Minnies who have posted on here. Yes, if you got out a pair of binoculars you might find the odd cobweb but hey, never mind the cobbies, feel the bohemian character. And Top Joe’s has it in spades. Breakfast was cooked by their opening batsman and wicketkeeper Dan and it was fabulous. One can almost imagine him walking to the crease wearing his black apron. All their food is sourced locally, with the exception of their delicious Monmouth Coffee. Special shout out to Margy too, for whom nothing was ever too much trouble. Top Joe’s is the toppermost of the poppermost - a diamond in the heart of the county.

An amazing place! Such a wonderful welcome by Kris and Tomos! Super room with comfortable bed scrummy pillows, sheets and full bathroom. We stayed for 2 nights and dined there on both evenings. Margie snd Olivia again were so very welcoming and helpful- essential in this business- thank you!!! Having never been to Narberth before - and after finding Top Joes - we shall definitely return!!!! Thank you! A return is on the cards!!!!!……xxxx

We enjoyed our stay in a Deluxe Double Room on the first floor at the back of Top Joe's Townhouse right in the middle of Narberth but quiet for a good night's sleep. Parking at the rear was very handy as Narberth was very busy when we were there. I booked via *********** but the owner said it would have been cheaper had we booked with them direct. We loved the whole style of the place - very different from your typical hotel and quirky in decor with a terrace at the rear and small garden which they were working on at the time when we were there in July. We had some great tasty pizzas in the restaurant in the evening and also enjoyed our breakfast in the morning with a reasonable spread. We had a good chat with the owner who seemed to welcome and advise tourists who wanted to know more about the area. Thanks Top Joe's.

Excellent location in Narberth. Very friendly staff . Lovely rooms . Breakfast was excellent ( although unfortunately we cannot recommend the Pizzeria for evening meals as our pizza was completely torched) . We did have one day where our room was not serviced at all and the fridge was full of someone else’s food when we arrived so cannot give five stars.

Initially room 9 appears reasonably stylish but that’s just the slightly pointless downstairs sitting area (the TV is upstairs) upstairs it’s dark and plain and while the bed is comfy but the bathroom was basically an old power shower in a cupboard not clean - see photos - the shower head and the shower tiles need a good bleaching. When I turned my pillow over at night I saw what looked to be a lipstick mark on it. The room did not match the photos or description of the rooms on the website or the online booking form - definitely very oversold and badly under delivered. I was woken in the night by a hammering on the external glass patio door - apparently it was a drunk person. The small and limited car park was full when we arrived at 4pm because lunch customers leave their cars there for free while exploring the town according to the girl who checked us in so I had to pay to park in the towns main pay and display up the top end of town and walk down with our case. Breakfast (at an additional cost to the room rate) was good however and saved this review from being 1/5 however luxury boutique b&b accommodation this is not and not in anyway worth the money I’m sorry. I’d return to Narberth but I’ll look for alternative accommodation.

This is a lovely hotel. It is right in the heart of Narberth but has its own car park. Rooms are modern and comfortable with the added bonus of air conditioning. Our room was overlooking the high street but was quiet and we slept really well. The staff were very warm and welcoming.

The front of house staff were excellent and the room overlooking the High Street was quiet, good secure car parking in a mature garden around the back. The pizzas were excellent , as good as can be got in Italy. Will stay again. Highly recommended.
