Anchors Aweigh - Adult & Guests Only

Wonderful two night stay at this lovely guest house. Heather and Kerry are great hosts who really go the extra mile with lots of little touches that make all the difference. We stayed in Room 1 (there’s only 5 rooms) which was one of the best rooms we’ve stayed in, in Australia. The room was immaculate and spacious with a huge comfy bed. Lovely spa bath in the bathroom. Very large balcony with sea views and plenty of furniture. Fabulous full breakfast was included too which is cooked by Heather and personally served to your table by Kerry. Highly recommend this place.

Sour, unbearable stench in room. Limp sheets, old furniture, outdated spa bath in room (no good for older people to climb in and out of eg, us), horrible dry beach towels, old limp tablecloths and napkins at breakfast, the whole place crammed with personal tat, a fire hazard, in my opinion. Breakfast was great however, Kerry was an excellent host. The B&B wasn't in the town centre as advertised in our opinion. Also, very strangely, our room fridge was out on the verandah! Beware the King room with spa.

Everything you need for a comfortable, quiet stay is provided, including a really good cooked breakfast. It was very relaxing to enjoy our own large verandah. Everything was spotlessly clean. It's always a bonus to have swimming towels provided.

Would never book there again didn't end up staying the night that I did book. The owners were abrupt and yelled at myself and my friend( who I advised wasn't staying she was just visiting me) made it so uncomfortable that I ended up going across the road where I was treated with respect and courtesy which was sadly lacking at anchor aweigh.

My partner and I had a great stay here over 2 nights. We had a sea view room which looked out over the rooftops down to the coast. The room was impeccably clean - I’m talking 5 star hotel level - and comfortable with lots of space and a great shower. The owners are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast options include a full cooked breakfast, cereal, coffee, tea, juice etc. The B&B is also well located in town and a short drive to everywhere. Recommended!!

Thanks to Kerry & Heather our excellent hosts who are helpful & thoughtful in taking care of our luggages. The place is spotless & perfect for a relaxing stay in Narooma. The breakfast was delicious & we enjoyed our stay there very much and would definitely go back next time we are in the area.

The b&b is located in a quiet area. We booked the king bedroom, named Prince of Wales, with a private veranda and fridge. Variety of breakfast combinations and kind hostesses. We have been there twice when visiting the area.

What a lovely little B & B. The rooms were spacious and spotless. Bed very comfortable. Lovely little deck out the front of the room gave a lovely view over the harbour. Nice to see timber from the original cottage being reused in the furniture in the room. The owners, Heather and Kerry, were very welcoming and engaging. They have decorated the property with a wide variety of interesting knick-knacks, curios, collectables and historical photos. The breakfast selection is wonderful with everything made to order. Location is great, a short walk downhill into town and close to restaurants. The walk back is uphill though :). Thank you Heather and Kerry for a lovely stay.

Das Anchors Aweigh ist ein B&B von «alter Schule». Es gibt nur wenige Zimmer, und ob meine Bemerkungen auf alle Räume zutreffen, kann ich nicht sicher beurteilen – es ist aber anzunehmen. Das Haus ist sauber, die Gastgeber sind dienstfertig und freundlich, und man fühlt sich willkommen. Wir verstehen aber auch, wenn anderen Gästen die «private» Gestaltung des Hauses durch die Gastgeber als zu viel des Guten empfinden. Die Neutralität und Anonymität eines Standardhotels muss man hier nicht finden wollen. Unser Zimmer war die Nummer 1. Es ist klein, solide und al**odisch möbliert, aber vollständig ausgestattet. Das Bad ist gut in Schuss, zwar auch nicht gross, aber nicht allzu eng. Es gibt einen grossen Flachbildschirm und ein WLan, dessen ausgezeichnete Qualität sehr zu loben ist. Das beste am Zimmer ist eine überaus grosse private Terrasse davor. Das Housekeeping funktioniert bestens. Originell ist die Organisation des Morgenessens. Weil nicht gleichzeitig Platz für alle Gäste ist, reserviert man sich einen Tisch auf eine bestimmte Zeit zwischen 07:30 und 09:00 Uhr und legt sein Wunschmenu aus einer breiten Auswahl detailliert fest. Das klappt prima. Ein Restaurant für Mittag- oder Abendessen gibt es nicht, aber zahlreiche Möglichkeiten in der näheren Umgebung. Parkplätze sind kostenlos. Zusammenfassend ist eine Empfehlung dieses Hauses durchaus angebracht. Wer aber auf monatelanger Reise ist (wie wir), hat allenfalls ein Platzproblem nicht nur für sich selbst, sondern auch für das Gepäck.
