Mountain Heights Lodge

All facilities including the host was perfect including clean tidy and comfy bed .My only complaint would be the low pressure shower , apart from that it was 10 out of 10

The staff was very rude, we arrived and they kept saying 'no children, no children' even though it says child friendly on their website. I don't recommend it, the stuff has no idea how to treat customers. Don’t waste your time, there are other better places around the area.

A delightful charming rustic lodge with an intriguing history. Our standard Queen bed room was comfortable and cosy, spotlessly clean bathroom, good tea and coffee facilities, and a generous continental breakfast included. Beautiful views day and night. Close to Ohakune, Tongariro National Park and G.A.S. station/shop. We were invited to walk around the sprawling estate and feed the alpacas. Hope to do the quad bike trail next time! Maria and Karl thanks for your warm hospitality.

Positives - location was handy to the crossing. Bed was comfortable and the room was a good size with everything I needed. Check in was fast and friendly. Beautiful views. The cleaning was great and staff turned on the heated towel rail and heater when they knew I had been out on the crossing for the day - nice touch! Things that could have been better - was not advised that the road the lodge was on was closed at certain times of the day so I could not actually get to the lodge until after 4.30pm when the road opened. Wifi is terrible. Shower pressure is terrible. No check out guidance provided nor any room directory with local info etc. All milk pottles provided were at least a week past use by date.

This is an excellent location for staying around the National Park. We stayed here so we could hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, it is one of the shuttle stops and picked us up right at the hotel, and after our hike brought us back to the hotel. The hotel manager emailed us the shuttle reservation link, so it made it super easy to plan our adventure!

We were satisfied with our one-night stay at Mountain Heights Lodge. Our room was clean and comfortable, the included breakfast was a nice feature, and the wifi worked well. Best of all, the price was reasonable.

What a great find, close to amenities and the Tongariro Crossing hike. Lovely and clean and warm. Full kitchen, large bathroom and very comfortable beds. Wifi was included and plenty of tv channels to watch. Parking right outside our unit with a little patio with table and chairs. Even though it was right on the main road our unit was set back and very quiet. Would definitely stay again. Hosts were lovely and helpful with suggestions.

We had a beautiful sunny room in the lodge that was clean and very comfortable. The wood stove on the first floor was delightful on a chilly evening. The breakfast room had a very nice self-serve continental breakfast. The hot tub was the best we experienced in New Zealand! National Parks Village two restaurants were close by and all the Tongariro Park activities were close by. Loved it.
