The Trott House Inn

The Trott House Inn was very clean, beautifully decorated, and inviting from the moment you step in the front door. The owners were very kind and spared no expense adding the extra touches to provide anything you might need to make your stay special and comfortable. We will definitely be visiting again.

Can’t say enough about our overnight stay at The Trott House Inn. We were celebrating a friends’ retirement and had a great time. The check in was easy, the house was immaculate, beds were comfortable, and the breakfast in the morning was great too. Miles was a wonderful host, very personable and always there to help if we had any questions. Highly recommend!

The room was very clean and spacious. No refrigerator in the room made it hard to keep my insulin cold but we made it work with the ice packs we had. Would have liked to have met the owners at some point. Everything was self serve and the ice machine was down for most of our stay for cleaning. Otherwise we had a very nice stay!

Excellent stay. This is the cleanest B&B I have ever stayed at hands down. The room was beautifully decorated and worked fine for my purposes. Great touches throughout the home, like dove chocolates, and various chips, drinks and coffees to have throughout the day.

We came to the area for a wedding in Hickory and did not want to stay again in chain hotels. The Trott Inn was a wonderful respite with lovely accommodations/nice linens/comfortable bed and fresh bountiful self serve breakfast. The innkeepers are a young couple and they bring great energy and thoughtful details to make the visitor welcomed and appreciated. They were most hospitable and accommodating Highly recommend!

This was our first time here and this place is amazing. We love the keyless entry option to the house itself so we could come and go easily. I love quaint and historical homes like these. The owners went above and beyond to think of every little detail to make the stay outstanding including blankets for sitting out on the patio or by the fire pit. Snacks galore, Nepresso coffee maker and pods, bagels, delicious quiche, juices and so much more. Just a wonderful self serve continental breakfast. Our bed was so comfortable and really nice sheets. Bathroom in your room……so nice. I love all the antiques that made this place so special. We were able to talk to Mackenzie this morning and the passion they have for what they do. They have a gorgeous porch with a swing, beautiful patio and fire pit area which we used. Easy walk to downtown. We ate at the Vintage House in Hickory and then went to No Entry which was close by………..A very unique place if you want amazing drinks. We will definitely be back to the Trott House.

My Husband & I made a last minute decision to attend an event in Hickory . Most of the hotels did not appeal to me and I started looking at Inns & B & Bs We came across The Trott House in nearby Newton and decided to give it a try . My Husband had a few questions which Makenzie answered right away . We stayed in the Caldwell room with the most comfortable king size bed I have ever slept in . The linens were exceptional. We sat on the porch outside relaxing with some nespresso & snacks that were available for guests. After dinner we came back and were able to meet Miles and enjoyed learning more about the house from him. We look forward to coming back here for a longer visit ! I also sent Makenzie & Miles an email when I got home asking where they purchased their bedding !

Fabulous stay! The historic house is beautiful and charming with lovely historic details—a perfect balance of comfortable and classy. Quiet spot and a short walk to the little downtown with restaurants and shops. My room was pretty and bright with high-quality bed linens and pillows. The continental breakfast was actually quite nice; I had Greek yogurt with granola and fresh strawberries, coffee and biscotti on the side. Free coffee, tea, and snacks 24/7; I wish more hotels would do this! Overall, absolutely delightful and highly recommended.

The Trott House is absolutely fantastic, and Miles and Makenzie are the magic behind its charm! Nestled within a stroll's reach of downtown Newton, this quaint sanctuary exudes warmth and comfort. Safety is paramount here, coupled with exceptional rooms and hospitality from the hosts, ensuring a memorable stay. Without a doubt, I look forward to returning to this gem in the future.
