Villa le Nid

Stayed there from 9/13/24 - 9/20/24. It’s a beautifully redone building, built originally around 1915 along with the rest of the neighborhood I guess. They have made it into a classy two-level, with a loft (stairs are little steep and narrow, you should be sure-footed with good knees, also for the 50 foot stairs up from the street). Bed is just great, bathroom smallish in European style but very nice/new, hot water works great. Kitchen has everything you need, microwave, nice fridge, designer cook-plate. Tall (8-9ft?) French doors with multi-pane glass out onto little sitting balcony. Views of the hills and neighborhood are massive, really sort of “cliffside”. And manager Jean-Luc is the most fantastic guy, his English is great and super helpful/enthusiastic/friendly, one of those people that restores your faith in the human race. The place is very walkable close to central Nice and train station and various shops (FNAC for your electronic stuff, Monoprix or little local market a half-block up for grocery stuff, and all various other shops to the south/west). The street down below is busy but the suite is well sound-insulated. All in all quite an elegant and romantic getaway spot, highly recommend.

This was our first time in Nice, arriving via train which itself was a wonderous journey, and we were visiting as part of the Rugby Word Cup 2023 (sorry for the late review!). Our stay could not have been more enjoyable. The apartment we had was a wonderful home from home. The location is so close to the town with plenty of restaurants nearby and a couple of supermarkets for those ‘in house’ essentials. The apartment was spotlessly clean with everything you would expect, and very quiet. I would also say that both Jean-Luc and Blandine are the perfect hosts, and although we had a little misunderstanding about time of arrival (messages were not sending!) Jean-Luc and I went on to have many a conversation about the Rugby, especially South Africa! We welcomed your tips on places to visit and eat. It is a great location to base yourself for the opportunity to visit other areas, I would have no hesitation in recommending Villa Le Nid and look forward to an opportunity to return.

My stay at Villa Le Nid could not have been more perfect. The villa had everything I needed for my week and a half stay, and I was able to really enjoy the fresh fruit and veggies from local markets because I had a fridge and stove. As a solo traveler, I felt completely safe in both the villa and surrounding area, and Jean-Luc was kind enough to take the time to introduce me to others staying at Villa le Nid. The location is perfect and I was easily able to travel around Nice and to the beautiful surrounding towns. Jean-Luc and Blandine are the kindest, warmest hosts and made my first trip to France unforgettable. From our very first exchange, they were nothing but helpful and thorough. I’ve been so fortunate to have wonderful hosts throughout my travels, but they are truly exceptional. There’s no where else I’d rather stay and will always come back to Villa le Nid when in Nice!

This was our 2nd time at the Villa le Nid in April, the weather was perfect with a lot of sunshine. The Agate apartment was wonderful, it was spotless, it had everything you need to make your stay in Nice a fantastic experience. We love sitting on the balcony and spending time in the beautiful garden. The apartment is extremely quiet, the supermarket is very close and the tram is a short walk. Jean-Luc and Blandine are the perfect hosts, thank you again for our amazing stay.

This is a very nice place, near to a market and the tram. There you find Bistrots, a bakery, many shops and it isn’t far to the old city and the beach. You feel very welcome, everything is clean and well maintained. Jean Luc and his wife are warm-hearted and strive to ensure that everything is right for the guest. We‘ve been there the second time and will come back again.

We stayed here for just over a week in June. The apartment (Rubis) is lovely...modern, nicely laid out, and has all the facilities you need for a short stay. It is located slightly away from the centre, however you can walk or get frequent trams which go all around the area. It is also close to some decent restaurants and markets 6 days per week. The host (JeanLuc) could not be more helpful. He is very friendly and welcoming. He took time to give us all sorts of information and was always available to answer any questions. The only minor point would be that the road outside the apartment can be quite loud with motorbikes which is noticeable when sat on the balcony, however when you have the windows closed in the apartment you can hardly notice them and it never affected our sleep. We would definitely like to come back again...thanks JeanLuc (the Penny Lane couple!)

We stayed at Ville le Nid for ten nights from 28th of July to 7th of August in the duplex apartment named Emeraude. The apartment was very clean and well organized, modern and with everything you need for short or longer stay. Blandine and Jean-Luc are a wonderful host and very helpful, gave us good advice and always willing to help. The beautiful garden around the house had a lot of tables and chairs for the guests staying at the Ville le Nid. There is a grocery store just around the corner. The fruits and vegetables market on the next street. There is also Tram stop which takes you straight down to the beach which is only a few stops away. The neighborhood is very quiet and not so much tourism as down at the beach which is only few minutes away. We highly recommend Villa le Nid. Blandine and Jean-Luc thank you very much for lovely stay.

We were in the Diamant apartment for five nights in May and feel it was a great choice: a beautiful as well as practical place to stay in Nice. The apartment has a modern set-up, including an excellent shower and very good bed, and is stylishly decorated. While it is small, it’s been cleverly arranged over two floors and contains everything needed in a self-catering apartment. A supermarket is pretty much next door, there are many delis/bakeries/patisseries in the surrounding streets, and the wonderful Libération market is a few minutes away. One can either stroll to the seafront along one of the main shopping streets or take the frequent trams for a few stops. The convenience of the location does mean the entrance to the villa comes off a larger road, but as soon as one takes the steps up to it, through its lovely garden, it feels peaceful and relaxing; while there’s some street noise when outside on the balcony, the apartment is amazingly quiet. The owners are lovely people and were very happy to help with advice about enjoying Nice and the Cote d’Azur region. We can definitely see ourselves returning here when we next get the chance to come to Nice.

I recently spent 9 days at the Villa Le Nid in the "Duplex Agate". The experience was great from start to finish. Highly recommend. Pre-arrival, the communications from the hosts Jean-Luc and Blandine were clear and helpful. I was warmly welcomed when I arrived and Jean-Luc provided a very complete walkthrough of the property and the duplex so that I would feel at home. (And the welcome bottle of Rose in the fridge was a nice touch.) The unit itself super clean and everything was like new. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was equipped. I liked the duplex layout with the bedroom where I could easily make the room dark and cool. But also enjoyed just sitting on the porch to take in a little sun. The property also has areas to lounge around the garden and a laundry area. Wifi at the property worked well. Jean-Luc encouraged me to contact him if I needed anything at all but that was never necessary because everything had been set up so well so I was able to just relax and enjoy my week.
