The Grange at Oborne

This was our 3rd visit to The Grange and we were as impressed as ever with the standard of the accommodation and friendliness of the staff. Our room was very comfortable and we liked having the underfloor heating on such a cold day. The bed was excellent and we had a good night's sleep in the very quiet surroundings. We hope to return soon!

A fine welcome preceded a very pleasant and quiet night. The public rooms are cosy and would have been more so if the fire had been lit. Our bedroom was warm, well furnished and the bed exceptionally comfortable. We have frequently previously stayed in the hotel and will continue to do so.

My wife and I stopped for one night at The Grange on our way home from a holiday in the Cotswolds. The hotel is lovely - quiet, friendly and cosy with super food in the restaurant. The whole place looked extremely well cared for with much evidence of recent redecoration, and our room (room 9) was perfect. All of the staff members we met during our stay were brilliant and are a real asset to this lovely family-run business. So many nice and humorous touches, plus a very friendly large house cat. We left wishing we could have stayed longer, and will definitely plan to return. One tip - don't follow your Sat Nav if coming from the north if you don't like narrow country lanes, contact the hotel and ask for the best route!

Wonderfully comfortable and decorated. Staff welcoming and so helpful. We were made to feel like we were at home away from home. Everything is well thought through and there is an obvious focus to making guests feel quietly indulged. Plus there is a very friendly cat to make you feel loved and welcome.

Lovely country hotel in a pretty village in easy reach of Sherborne. Family run, cosy and welcoming. Excellent breakfast and helpful friendly staff. Loved the selection of wellington boots to suit all sizes and aged. Our second visit and we will be back!

This was our third visit to The Grange and this time we decided to stay for a week and have it as our base to explore Sherborne and Dorset. There were plenty of lovely and interesting places to explore and returning to the Grange each evening, only added to our enjoyment. You won’t be disappointed! Without exception, the staff are consistently friendly, helpful, obliging and professional in their roles. Whatever food you choose will be absolutely delicious. You’ll find the bedrooms both comfortable and smart, whilst the ambience generally around the hotel is very relaxing, with items for you to borrow or take if you happen to have forgotten anything! This is one of our favourite places to stay, because it isn’t really like staying in a hotel, but like visiting friends who just happen to live in a very big house!! We thoroughly recommend The Grange!
