With due respect to the Sandals Barbados Resort, and in keeping with a balanced review process, I offer the following review of our 7 day stay in the beginning of May 2024. With reference to some of the recent reviews posted, I’m not sure where these reviewers were staying, as our stay was amazing. From the time of our arrival at the Sandals desk at the Bridgetown Airport, we were treated with smiles, detailed information as to how our luggage would be handled and where we were to board our transport. Courntney,(our transport driver), provided us with some history of the island and had the whole bus laughing and responding to his humorous questions and quips by the time we arrived at the resort. Concierge Team As we had booked a Club level room, we entered the Club Lounge and were immediately greeted by our Concierge, presented with a cold drink and provided with welcome information. Then Dwayne took us to our room and went over all the room amenities. Dwayne was the best. The whole Concierge team was exceptional. Dwayne, Ravik, Jonathan, Andrew, and a couple of ladies whose names we didn’t get, took very good care of us with our reservations requests and other minor issues we had along our stay. The wall showerhead in our room was clogged and leaking a bit. When mentioned to Dwayne, it was replaced within the hour. On the next to the last day of our stay, I had accidentally changed the code in our closet safe and didn’t know what I had entered. When mentioned to one of the women in the Club Lounge, Security arrived at the room within 10 minutes and had the safe oipen for us again. As we were there to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary, we came back to our room one day to find the number 45 laid out in rose petals on the bed and a bottle of wine and two glasses on the desk surrounded by rose petals with a nice card from our Concierge Team. Thank You!! Staff Every time we encountered a staff member, be it a gardener or an office person, cleaning person, or others, while we were walking the paths, we were always greeted with a smile and an appropriate greeting for the current time of the day. All the Hosts and Hostesses at the restaurants greeted us with smiles and welcomes. We were seated immediately and greeted by the wait staff within minutes. We only had to wait about 45 minutes for our food once at the American Tavern. It was a very busy that night. The water (Akeem) often apologized for the delay. But when our food did arrive, it was hot and delicious. Housekeeping did a great job. We didn’t always get new hand towels the firs day or two that we were there, but I encountered our housekeeper (Marissa?, spelling), outside our room one day and pleasantly asked for some hand towels. We had them everyday from that day forward. She cleaned the room very well, even mopping the floors each day. We saw her on the day we were leaving and she seemed genuinely sad that we were leaving. Very disappointing. When reading the negative reviews that have been posted recently, please be aware they are 100% correct and not exaggerated. This place is really struggling to meet any standard, let alone its 5 star rating it promises. From rude, unprofessional staff, to below average food quality and general cleanliness, this resort falls very short of living up to the Sandals reputation of the past. Will elaborate further not only to help fellow travellers but also to help management take control of this resort. FOOD: The majority of restaurants require you to book a reservation in advance, but please be aware this is at least a good 5 days in advance due to availability. If you’ve not booked in to a restaurant, there is no dinner buffet like you would expect in a normal all inclusive resort. You have other restaurants available that do not require a reservation but we waited on average an hour to get a table every night. We soon learnt, get out early for when the restaurant opens. You also have a breakfast and lunch buffet which honestly, the quality of the food is awful. There’s no daily fruit options or healthy options here. Very limited on the usual snacking type food you’d find in other resorts. CUSTOMER SERVICE There is a huge disconnect between depar**ents here so most of the responses from the concierge was to come back tomorrow. The staff are super rude here and make you feel really bad for asking for something, like a scene out of Oliver Twist! Have never felt like that before anywhere on past trips but this place definitely doesnt make you struggle to feel like you’re doing something wrong for asking for another drink! CLEANING The housekeeping here is super inconsistent and as you’ve heard in other reviews, rooms just don’t get attended to and you have to keep calling or going to concierge to get towels and toilet paper etc. Again, not major when you’re staying in a 2 star hotel with a 2 star price but we’re in a 5 star resort here, having paid 5 star money. However, the saving grace from all this, is the ocean and sand here as it’s absolutely out of this world! Oh and the oa**eal cookies in the concierge, they are actually delicious!

We are day two of our honeymoon (this could be a very long week) and so far the holiday has been a huge disappoin**ent. Firstly, after check in our bags didn’t arrive to our room for nearly an hour, after repeatedly being told they were on route, my husband went down and found they had been left in reception - my husband had to go down and retrieve them himself. Our room is un clean and water all over the walls (pictures included) - my husband woke up to all his clothes wet through this morning. We are currently staying in the honeymoon suit which is located opposite the room service prep area - at 2am on our first night I had to go into the hallway and ask them to please stop as the noise can only be described as unloading the worlds biggest dishwasher, clashing of plates, dropping of cutlery ect. First day we were up early due to the time difference - we were by the pool at 6.30am and have been told most of the beds are reserved for butler guests. We walked down to the beach instead, to be advised there were no towels for us to lie on. I really hope our experience improves, but so far it isn’t looking good.

First of all, thank you to the citizens of Barbados for sharing their beautiful country with us! We had a great stay at Sandals Barbados. I read the negative reviews beforehand and I was nervous, but I’m happy to say my concerns were unfounded. Upon arrival, our process through the airport was seamless and swift. The ride to the resort was quick. We had a small wait before our room was ready (concierge level) but we were served champagne and the yummiest oa**eal raisin cookies we’ve ever tasted. 😁 The meals and drinks were tasty and the staff always took great care of us. In addition, the majority of the staff was friendly and consistently said hello and asked if we were doing well. The spa is top notch and I highly recommend the couples and/or deep tissue massage. Special shout out to Cheryl, our amazing housekeeper, waitresses Tracy-Ann (Schooners) and Paulette (La Parisienne), Duane in the concierge office, and Courtney who transported us to the airport on our way home.

I would never book a wedding here, or even a trip. My best friend got married here in April, and from when we arrived at the resort it was all downhill. We arrived at 3pm, which is when our rooms were ready, and we didn’t get into them until 6pm, which the bride and groom were one of the last to get their rooms out of 25 of us. The welcome dinner/cocktail hour for the wedding was almost 2 hours late, and the food that was served at both was very very cold. By the time the first group was finishing their desert, we just received our main course. When you go to the restaurants around the resort, you will receive a lot of eye rolls, and attitude for asking for anything (another drink for example). I was double charged for a 60 min massage that i booked online prior to our arrival, and when i confronted the staff about this, i was given attitude. The second day we were there, we came back from the pool and were going to get into the soaking tub and noticed a half smoked joint next to it (cleaning ladies must like to party). I wouldn’t get married here, nor travel here unless you are getting a butler so you don’t have to deal with the regular everyday staff, which we should have done. Very unwelcoming staff, and if you want to get attacked by picture people even climbing into the pool, this is your place.

We were at Sandals Barbados in May 2024. The grounds were beautiful, most of the staff was very friendly. The issue was the level of service for a 5 Star Luxury Resort. The main issue was bathroom towels and wash clothes. Out of a seven night stay, at least four nights they either did not replace our towels, or they did not do turndown service at all. We made numerous calls to Club Sandals, Loyalty, and the frount desk, with numerous posts on Gina, as well as spoke with the resort General Manager. One night some towels were delivered at 11:30, another at 12 Midnight. We resorted to bringing beach towels to the room several times in order to shower. Our last night, turn down service was missed again, the night manager said "It would not happen again" We replied that it was our last night so that would not help, we did inquire into Sandals credit points, they did say yes, and gave us a credit for our next trip. When we were leaving they said there was an equipment issue that impacted service. However that does not explain the lack of turndown service. It is a shame that a basic service issue affected such a beautiful trip.

POOR SERVICE: Mobile app not functioning properly to allow pre-arriving guest to book dinner reservations. Once guest actually arrive on property you still cannot book reservations until you are officially checked into the resort. After finally checking in and getting to the room ever attempt to contact Concierge Services was unsuccessful, the phone just rung for 10-15 minutes and then disconnect. This happened on multiple occasions, tried going through the operator and front desk all they do is transfer back to a ringing line where no one answers and after 10 -15 minutes of ringing the call disconnect. Then when speaking to Dexter (Concierge Supervisor) he says oh it's been busy and also mentions another customer had complained about the same thing app not working for booking dinner reservations. Of course, this leads to the selected restaurants being booked out our entire stay…. WELL THAT SUCKS! How is it the guest fault the Sandals app had issues and Concierge services was busy. Guest pays thousands of dollars to stay at any Sandals to have to deal with shenanigans as such. MOLD ENCOUNTERS/ POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE CONTINUES: Upon arrival the first room at Building 11 we checked into had heavy scent of air fresher/ deodorizer and hint of something. It was at that time we mentioned to the bellman that showed us to our room - this room smells like mold or something mixed in the air. He quickly responded no, no its no mold here it's just the humidity as my husband went to open the sliding patio door to clear out the air fresher scent. The bellman expressed make sure you keep the sliding door to the balcony and room door closed otherwise the humidity will cause the floor to sweat and condensate to produce. We had other guest waiting for us outside, so we said we will monitor as the deodorize scent evaporates. We leave the room and arrive back late night to discover a musty order I call the operator they advise the front desk and housekeeping are gone for the night. While I try and get someone on the line its midnight or after. I express the room has a must - mold smell by now my husband is sleep. They advised they would have the night manager call to see what could be done. Someone finally called and we could move to another room for the night but would need to move again. At this point its late and I am tired of waiting, I tell them I will move in the morning which is a few hours away and I would need it to be the room we will be in for the entire duration of our stay. They assured this would not be a problem, calls first thing when you are up, it will be handled the night supervisor has noted the account. I call at the Front Desk at 8am, Saturday, April 20 advising of my experience last night and I needed the information the new room. At this time the musty smell is stronger, no air freshener fragrance scent to be smelt now my husband is sneezing with itchy water eyes, and I now see hive clusters developing on my arms, hands, etc. and along wit

The restaurants, the selection of cuisines, the level of service, the room, the entertainment, the food, the bars, the amenities… all were beyond exceptional! The staff are obviously highly trained and have tremendous pride in what they do and what they are a part of. I felt as though I was living in a dream. A special shout out to the Sales Manager Khadijah (I think I spelled her name correctly)! She is a fine example of a model employee! Her knowledge and passion for what she does is superb.

Cannot say enough about this amazing resort. Stunning beach, beautiful room, delicious food and friendly, happy vibe from the entire staff. Butlers Kemar, Rafaela and Shakira were excellent! Would definitely return to this gorgeous resort and beautiful island. Five stars!
