We have just returned from a two week holiday in Oludeniz and although we didn't stay at The Tower this time, I just had to write a few words the reason for which will hopefully become clear as I go on. Our only previous visit to Olu was 7 years ago, when we did stay at The Tower and had a great time, which was mainly down to one man; Baba. This time around we stayed part way between Olu and Hisaronu but knew we just had to pop in and see if Baba was still running the bar. One evening early in our holiday we were on the main ***** and my wife and 24 year old daughter were having a mooch around various shops, a pastime in which I have very little interest. I quickly suggested to my daughters boyfriend that we might be better suited walking round to The Tower and seeing if Baba was still there. He didn't take much persuading. I had literally stepped inside the grounds of The Tower when Baba looked at me from behind the bar, stopped what he was doing, ran out, gave me a big hug and welcomed me back. How good is that? I have been there once, 7 years ago, and the man remembers me and welcomes me back as if it was yesterday. My wife and daughter got the same welcome when they arrived. Baba has a knack of bringing the guests sat around the bar into one conversation and then throws out some riddles and puzzles to have a think about. Whilst I can't comment too much on the hotel, what I can say is that it still looked good, had plenty of happy and cheerful guests with the main man still holding court, which is why we called back in on another couple of evenings. Baba - You are a legend and a gentleman.
