Originally a Brewery,it is now a guest house with a charming European ambience and transports one the times of thinking bone china and Wedge wood tea-pots. The Commemoration Plaque reads " Dedicated to the Glory of God and the Service of india and all Mankind on 8th April 1929.The Gift of Friends is the United states of India of America to the Young Women's Christian Association of India, Burma and Ceylon. Covering an extensive area, the Bungalows of lime mortar and stoped roofs add a quaint charm to the place and is a good example of early twentieth century architecture. A Conference / Marriage Hall with a dining hall, Kitchen and dormitories with 24 hours water supply is also available for public service. WHAT WE DO The Commemoration Plaque reads " Dedicated to the Glory of God and the Service of India and all Mankind on 8th April 1929.The Gift of Friends is the United states of India of America to the Young Women's Christian Association of India, Burma and Ceylon. The Property is located in the heart of the town in a sprawling 4 acres area with calm, quiet and serene atmosphere. Much different from the commercial hotels and private cottages, has a pristine ambience. Has the charm of the Old English country guest house of the 19th century dcor and furniture with the charm of old type of hospitality and cuisine. It was more like a cottage than airbnb. It had mouse. It was too cold. It didn't have any kitchen or balcony. However the room service was very good and the resturant of it too.

Stay, room service were good. Restaurant facility was a little bit bad. Only a very little items in the menu was available.

From the moment i walked into my room, i was impressed by the cleanliness and attention to detail. The room was spotless, with fresh linens, a clean and well-maintained bathroom, and a pleasant, inviting scent. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job throughout my stay.

Had a pleasant stay at ywca, ooty. No hurdles in check in and check out and the hotel staff is very friendly and supportive. Good response.

Good for family with kids and ample parking space in the middle of ooty. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here which is very good.

The rooms are big and the hotel is a heritage building used by british. The only issue is hot water and cleanliness. Lots of mosquitoes in the room. I had to buy a separate ‘all out’ mosquito killer. Geyser is not working in the room and the management unable to help. The service staff provided hot water in buckets.

Good stay. Helpful staff. Clean spacious cottage with multiple beds so a family can stay comfortably. Very near to commercial road
