They say location is everything and that couldn’t be more true of Villa Apolon. The historic villa, right on the harbour front of Stari Grad, a stone’s throw from bars and restaurants is absolutely perfect. We spent 5 nights at Villa Apolon in the room named Demetra, which for me, was the best room in the hotel as it has the huge balcony on the front where we were able to sit and watch the comings and goings of all the yachts mooring up in the harbour. The bedrooms in the old building have been sympathetically modernised with luxury bathrooms but still retaining charm and character. The hotel service was superb, warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble from the moment we arrived, helping us with bags and parking for our rented car, offering coffee or providing fresh milk for the fridge in our room and giving us some excellent restaurant recommendations. Stari Grad itself is a delightful old town, full of beautiful old streets and not at all crowded at the end of the season. This was by far the best part of our holiday on the Dalmatian coast and we hope very much to return.

We recently spent a fabulous 4 nights at The Heritage Villa Apolon. Our room “Demetra” was very clean and spacious with a beautiful balcony overlooking the inlet. We thoroughly enjoying sitting watching the magnificent boats that were moored there. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the owner “Ante” went out of his way to make our trip so memorable!! A great location with many great restaurants within a few minutes walk. Can’t recommend enough - we definitely hope to return.

Amazing stay! Beautiful small hotel with the largest rooms we had our whole trip! We felt so spoiled!! Plus. Large bathroom. Wonderful breakfast with made to order hot items included. The terrace was perfect to see the small sailboats come in each day. Right on the main stretch of Stari Grad close to everything. The owner was amazing and helped us with reservations snd recommendations. A beyond highlight of our 14 day trip!!!!!

From hospitality to luxury accommodations to gorgeous design elements and views, the Heritage Villa Apolon did not disappoint! Peaceful and beautiful, lovely breakfast and friendly host. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Villa Apollon for one night and I wished we’d booked a week! Beautiful hotel on the water with huge rooms and a lovely sitting veranda outside side perfect for a glass of wine and watching the boats . The rooms are fantastic and we were upgraded to a larger room as it was early season. The staff are top notch and the breakfast is delicious. Stari Grad is a lovely harbor town- we preferred it over Hvar which has a big party scene. Stari Grad is smaller and quieter but with plenty of shops and restaurants. Stay at Villa Apollon and watch the sunset with a glass of wine - simply perfect.

Beautiful house with long history in the village of Stari grad. Lovely spacious room and modern bathroom, fantastic view over the harbour. Super friendly and service minded staff, showing that little extra care of you as a guest. Everything very clean and fresh. Great breakfast, my favourite was the chia pudding with coconut, berries and almonds, and the fresh fruit salad. Many choices from the hot breakfast menu as well. We stayed for a week.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful villa. Such a lovely place. Friendly and very helpful staff, nutritious and delicious breakfast while sitting on the beautiful terrace overlooking bay of Starigrad. Entire establishment very clean and well maintained. Strongly recommended.

The Hotel Villa Apalon is a wonderful little B and B style hotel on the edge of Stari Grad old town. It’s in an excellent location to walk to Stari Grad old town centre (2 mins) and the many harbour front restaurants and bars. The hotel is small but it is in a beautiful old building tastefully decorated and the rooms are HUGE! Great air con, comfortable beds and a shower to die for! The breakfast is probably the only slight thing that we found a little lacking but to be honest it was adequate with fruit, yoghurt and pastries - there were some cooked options, scrambled egg and avocado etc but they just weren’t really our taste. Special mention must go to their amazing staff who were so helpful and friendly making sure we had enough in the room, giving us advice for dinner and even giving us a lift when we need help to get to the ferry. The staff were faultless and a credit to the hotel. Please don’t be taken in by bigger hotels outside of Stari Grad (we nearly were) this place is a gem and deserves its ranking as number 1 place to stay in Stari Grad
