Grand Hotel Masseria Santa Lucia

I visited this hotel many years ago and am still shocked by the terrible experience I had here. I have read a recent review and see the rooms and plumbing have not been improved . The rooms away from the main hotel area smell of sewage and the general vista is that of a prison holiday camp. The beach area is misrepresented as it is small difficult to access and full of old furniture. The bar service is lacking vigour, birds frequent breakfast including their droppings , most lacklustre staff around. Reception ‘ am I bothered mentality’ Basically I agree with previous review. Not up to scratch. Roughly a 2 -3 star place.

Very disappointing. We booked a 4* after a string of Airbnb as a treat. We were allocated a room in a concrete single storey block that smelt damp and was definitely not even close to 4* accommodation. We were moved to one in the opposite block. Still poor but at least it didn’t smell. The noise from either side plumbing was horrendous made worse only by the fact the cleaners started at 7.30 am on the Sunday!! We were eventually loved to a room in the main block which looked much better and more like a hotel but an out of date holiday camp. However air con didn’t work and there’s no maintenance guy at weekend! Temp in room Was 27 degrees. They told us to sleep with the window open! Luckily someone else checked out early and we were moved to our 4th room (in a 2 night stay) which was nice. If you are considering this hotel a few important points - make sure you are guaranteed a room in the main building if you want anything like hotel quality. Unless you are planning not to leave hotel at all (or full board) you will need a car. There’s nowhere within walking distance. Ostuni a 15 min drive and is nice. The pool area is lovely and you can walk down the path to the sea (do t look at all the old furniture and rubbish dumped I assume by the hotel on the side of the path) and that’s quite nice. It’s not a sandy beach - just a small grass area with steps over the rocks to the sea. Food was good but it’s a set meal so doesn’t feel like eating out. Staff at reception were mixed some Helpful and understanding - others the opposite. I would not in all honesty recommend this place to anyone.

We spent a week in Masseria Santa Lucia, we liked: •the staff that is nice and helpful •good fresh bread always •the pool (one of the biggest and safest pool I ever been) •the location close to the beach and lagoons also close to the cities that are nice to visit •folk concert organized with the locals •transport to the beach and back .. although walking on the the palm street is very pleasant we consider average to good: •the foods •the rooms !Important to have a car if you want to visit other cities

Abbiamo soggiornato in questa bellissima masseria nel mese di Maggio. È stato tutto perfetto dalla location, la ricca colazione, la stanza, la bellissima zona piscina, personale cordiale in particolare Giuseppe, Giovanni, Samuela e Alessia.

We raden dit prachtig Hotel aan niet te ver Brindisi vliegveld 30 km.en maar amper 10 km van Ostuni ook genoemd de Witte stad. Om optimaal van de vakantie te genieten we raden aan om een kleine auto te huren dan kunt je gemakkelijk het zuiden en het norden van Apulien ontdekken. Elke stadt in deze regio is een verrassing rijk aan historische gebouwen en kerken. Het hotel zelf is een monument (oude boerderij) het is nu een 4 sterren hotel met wellness,zwembad,rotsstrand en zandstrand bereikbaar met gratis shuttle.De zee is amper 300 meter ver van de kamers. Het restaurant is heel mooi en in de Orangerie kunt je alle maltijden nodigen onder welriekende oranjebomen. Het eten is heel goed met 4 gangen keuzemenu. Het personeel is vriendelijk en attent. De kamers zijn groot en goed ingericht met een mooi terras met jasmijn klimplanten. We hebben 2 mooie weken doorgebracht en de tijd voorbij gevlogen. Folgende jaar vliegen wij weer naar Apulien amper 2 uur en 1/2 Van Charleroi,om van deze streek te genieten.

Ik heb dit hotel bezocht in 08/2023 en nu, omdat dit hotel een fantastisch zwembad en tuin heeft, dat grenst aan de zee met platform met ligbedden.. Ook ligt het privé zandstrand 5 min lopen van het hotel, of je gaat met het hotelbusje Het eten dit jaar was van veel betere kwaliteit dan vorig jaar. Men had ook verfraaiingswerken uitgevoerd ten opzichte van vorig jaar. Het personeel was allemaal hetzelfde als vorig jaar. Super vriendelijk. Hier kom je voor de rust. Hier is het echt dolce far niente. Je wordt als klant met rust gelaten, niets moet… . Dit hotel mag meer publiciteit maken voor zijn wellness behandelingen. Eerste keer geweest dit jaar, de wellness is top. De gratis bus in de zomer naar Ostuni s’avonds , is heel praktisch . Parking is moeilijk te vinden s’avonds. Een auto is wel aangewezen om uitstappen te maken. Ik kom zeker terug.
