From the moment we walked in the door, we had an amazing experience at Barceló Oviedo Cervantes. Parking was as easy as could be in a nice lot connected to the hotel. The person at reception was so personable and helpful and we even got an unexpected room upgrade. The room was spacious, well-designed and comfortable - including a huge tub with jets in the large bathroom (with a sliding door that allowed for privacy). I’m also used to paying ridiculous prices for wine at a hotel so was very pleasantly surprised when I learned at checkout that the one I had charged to my room was only about 4€. The hotel is perfectly located close to the shops, restaurants and amazing park, and reasonably quiet for being on a busy street. I would not hesitate to stay there for future visits to Oviedo.

I love the character of this hotel, its charm is special and the rooms have a class. This time I was disappointed by the continuous passage of people from a colloquium, the noise of the rolling plate of the room service and I had neighbors especially the second night when I heard everything: their discussion, their physical noise, their television. It was hell, and I realized I was in a larger room, a passage through a simple door communicated with the next room (109/107). The hotel has a very good location, and it is very good for you to find a good location. On the other hand my room was quiet, but without double glass, the goods passing the night made me a party! The restaurant Mil Cent is in the centre of the hotel, with a nice restaurant, good products, pleasant reception, excellent iberic jam, Dilmah tea. We are clients since many years ago and everytime we take a tour to that city we always choose it. The hotel is placed a few meters away from the gorgeous gothic Cathedral and the pedestrian city center, so the place cannot be better located. Quality price relation is excellent, staff is friendly and beds are comfortable and full of plugs to charge phones and computers. Choice for Breakfast is good and with a domestic flavour. We will keep on returning to this hotel.

Para ser un hotel 4 estrellas, no está a la altura. Habitaciones pequeñas, mobiliario muy estropeado. Primera vez que paso frío en un hotel, en febrero y la cama sólo con sábanas y una manta fina en el armario por si tienes frío. La calefacción no funcionaba. Camas incómodas, se notan los muelles y sólo disponen de una almohada baja, sin posibilidad de tener dos tipo de almohada según el gusto. Y juntan dos camas para hacer una de matrimonio pero sin frenos por lo que se separaban una de la otra. Desayuno cutre, no quedaba casi de nada y tampoco reponían con frecuencia, zumos de bote, café aguado. Si tuviera menos estrellas no estaría mal pero el nivel que dicen tener, no lo tienen por ningún lado.

I never leave opinions, neither good nor bad, but this time I deserve it, because since I entered the room of this hotel I felt peace, comfort, warm and relaxed. We spent two nights with breakfast at the Exe Center and I enjoyed the warmth of the room, the non-viscosa beds are comfortable, the kitchens are also, the huge windows, the room in itself, giant and very cosy. I usually take hotels to sleep and I was already looking to come and give me a hot shower with the amenities that had to be great. The breakfast room may be a little small, a little collapsed in the top hour but nothing that doesn't calm it a little patience, there was also a lot of things as sweet as salads to eat. In short, a quiet, very cosy, beautiful, elegant and comfortable space to rest at very good price in Oviedo.

-stayed here for two nights for business purposes -the hotel is very central and you can walk to the city center and all restaurants nearby -the personnel is kind and nice -the gym needs investments, if you like working out on your business trips you won’t be happy with the equipment, a bit of age (I did a 30mins ride on the station bike and that could be exchanged to a new one for example) -breakfast is good and they serve some typical food from the region -bed is comfortable, the walls seem light as I could hear people in neighboring rooms

Excelente estancia, por accesos, ubicación y atención del personal. Pudimos aparcar dos noches en la calle, junto al hotel y el sábado aparcamos en el parking Bulevar. El apartamento esta muy bien y la cocina está separada del salón así que genial . No hicimos uso de desayuno ni comidas/cena en el restaurante. Para repetir cuando volvamos a Oviedo.

We stayed here one night. Hotel was designed by famous architect Calatrava so impressive from the outside. Room was big, bed and pillows comfortable. Service was friendly and efficient. Amazing breakfast included in the price. The outside structure is showing signs of wear and could be touched up. The room itself had some signs of wear but did not detract from our stay.

Then the day I arrived (on 23:30) they made me a panini because there was nothing open to eat. It is on a walk to the center, and if you are driving a car, there is a lot of parking. El Hotel Retiro de Cardea está muy cerca del centro de Oviedo en un lugar tranquilo donde es relativamente fácil aparcar. Hay desayuno buffet por 6 euros y también puedes desayunar un café y tostadas/croissant a la plancha por 3 euros. Cerca hay un lidl y bares y restaurantes. El precio es muy bueno (por lo menos en temporada baja). En la sexta planta había bastante ruido, procedente de una sala de máquinas cercano, pedí que si me pudiera cambiar a una habitación más baja y me dijeron que ”ese ruido fuera posible que también estuviera en las demás plantas, que de normal nadie se queja de ello y que si me cambiaba sería mañana”, así que dada la escasa predisposición y empatia que tuvo este trabajador para cambiarme de habitación (en temporada baja creo que hubiese sido sencillo...) opté por dormir con tapones el resto de los días.

All the negative reviews about this delightful hotel are rather unfair. In my opinion, the utilities, service, comfort and cleanliness of our stay and room commensurate with the price that we have been charged. The location is great. We walked from the hotel to the city centre and walked through a few neighbourhoods and got a glimpse of the locals' lives. Parking at the basement of the hotel was very reasonably priced and convenient. Roberto at Front Desk was excellent in every aspect - warm smile, friendly information about the city, and so polite and respectful. Breakfast, to us, was sufficient and varied. We enjoyed it very much, and have no complaints. Being Silver Accor member, we were given welcome drinks but were a bit disappointed that there was only beer or bottled juice or soft drinks. No cocktails, Ibis? Come on, be more generous next time :-)!

Recently stayed here for a few days. Location is fantastic as it is only a few minutes walk to the old town. However, if travelling by train/bus, it’s about 15 mins walk (with luggage). I appreciate and am grateful that they let us check in early (before midday). My room key card didn’t work the next day so had to get it renewed daily which was a pain (not with my travel companions key card who had a different room though!). There were a few steps into hotel reception and a few steps again to get elevator access- I think they should really have a ramp. Room is otherwise clean but a little dated. I don’t like that the hair dryer was attached to the bathroom wall and put in a corner where it’s difficult to access as the bathroom is fairly compact. Otherwise overall a pleasant stay.

Nos alojamos dos personas durante 3 noches en este hotel. La chica de recepción (Ana, era la que estaba cuando llegamos) nos atendió muy amablemente, nos indicó también dónde está el parking con el que tienen acuerdo y nos explicó todo sobre el hotel. La habitación era la básica, bastante amplia, la limpieza bien, el baño bien también. El colchón era bastante blando para nuestro gusto. El desayuno bien, abundante y variado. Los huevos revueltos muy ricos. La chica que estuvo los 3 días que nos alojamos en la sala del desayuno, muy atenta, amable y simpática. Era la segunda vez que me alojaba en el hotel y seguramente vuelva más adelante

Recently stayed here for a few days. Location is fantastic as it is only a few minutes walk to the old town. However, if travelling by train/bus, it’s about 15 mins walk (with luggage). I appreciate and am grateful that they let us check in early (before midday). My room key card didn’t work the next day so had to get it renewed daily which was a pain (not with my travel companions key card who had a different room though!). There were a few steps into hotel reception and a few steps again to get elevator access- I think they should really have a ramp. Room is otherwise clean but a little dated. I don’t like that the hair dryer was attached to the bathroom wall and put in a corner where it’s difficult to access as the bathroom is fairly compact. Otherwise overall a pleasant stay.

Para ser un hotel 4 estrellas, no está a la altura. Habitaciones pequeñas, mobiliario muy estropeado. Primera vez que paso frío en un hotel, en febrero y la cama sólo con sábanas y una manta fina en el armario por si tienes frío. La calefacción no funcionaba. Camas incómodas, se notan los muelles y sólo disponen de una almohada baja, sin posibilidad de tener dos tipo de almohada según el gusto. Y juntan dos camas para hacer una de matrimonio pero sin frenos por lo que se separaban una de la otra. Desayuno cutre, no quedaba casi de nada y tampoco reponían con frecuencia, zumos de bote, café aguado. Si tuviera menos estrellas no estaría mal pero el nivel que dicen tener, no lo tienen por ningún lado.

I never leave opinions, neither good nor bad, but this time I deserve it, because since I entered the room of this hotel I felt peace, comfort, warm and relaxed. We spent two nights with breakfast at the Exe Center and I enjoyed the warmth of the room, the non-viscosa beds are comfortable, the kitchens are also, the huge windows, the room in itself, giant and very cosy. I usually take hotels to sleep and I was already looking to come and give me a hot shower with the amenities that had to be great. The breakfast room may be a little small, a little collapsed in the top hour but nothing that doesn't calm it a little patience, there was also a lot of things as sweet as salads to eat. In short, a quiet, very cosy, beautiful, elegant and comfortable space to rest at very good price in Oviedo.

El Hotel Retiro de Cardea está muy cerca del centro de Oviedo en un lugar tranquilo donde es relativamente fácil aparcar. Hay desayuno buffet por 6 euros y también puedes desayunar un café y tostadas/croissant a la plancha por 3 euros. Cerca hay un lidl y bares y restaurantes. El precio es muy bueno (por lo menos en temporada baja). En la sexta planta había bastante ruido, procedente de una sala de máquinas cercano, pedí que si me pudiera cambiar a una habitación más baja y me dijeron que ”ese ruido fuera posible que también estuviera en las demás plantas, que de normal nadie se queja de ello y que si me cambiaba sería mañana”, así que dada la escasa predisposición y empatia que tuvo este trabajador para cambiarme de habitación (en temporada baja creo que hubiese sido sencillo...) opté por dormir con tapones el resto de los días.
