This was the worst pub meal I have ever had! Nothing was fresh - everything had been frozen and then dumped in a microwave. That was bad enough but some of the vegetables remained frozen, and the 'pan-fried fish' had never seen a pan in its life. It too must have been moved from freezer straight to microwave and then plate.

We didn't stay here but had dinner here twice. There weren't many options in Owaka. The food wasn't very good at all. One of the steaks was so tought we had to send it back. I ordered vegetarian pizza. The only vegetables on it were Pineapple, onion and a couple of pieces of mushroom. It was terrible. I think you need to lift your game with your food. The pub was quite nice and cosy. Some of the younger staff were very engaging.

To the two ladies behind the bar (sorry we didn’t get your names) THANK YOU for your immaculate vibes and amazing service! The beef nachos were THE BEST I’ve ever eaten, and that’s no joke coming from a nacho connoisseur! You have the BEST aioli also ❤️ Thank you so so so much! If you visit this place- get some food. I’m sure whatever they make they will go above and beyond to make it delicious. But I recommend the nachos. Thanks team!

3 out of 4 meals good but fish meal was terrible with very soggy vegetables. Would of been lovely to at least get a smile off the staff that served us this evening. Felt like we were interrupting their evening by being there. Tried this place twice now. This was probably the last

Awesome fish and steak meals and lovely accommodation :) Friendly everyone, true kiwi hospitality. Our room was immaculate, comfy bed and great shower pressure. Plus only 10 steps from the pub! Thanks so much….. we will stay again for sure :)
