Just back from a great four night stay at the Araxa. It is a pretty boutique hotel, with well tended grounds and spotlessly clean. We were worried as we had read reviews about rude staff but every member of staff we spoke to was welcoming, polite and courteous. We stayed in a basic double room (number 315) at the back of the hotel, on the top floor, at the end of the corridor and it was lovely and quiet. It was a good size room with everything we needed, tea making facilities, fridge, shower gel, hairdryer and fluffy towels. Reception staff will give you a key for the safe, free of charge. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Nice pool, not heated but that was not a problem for us. Reception will provide you with towels (deposit) so you don't have to take your own and the sun beds were the best we have ever been on at a hotel. It's about a 30 minute walk from the city centre but there are buses (number 4 or 20) not too far away that go into town for €2. My only gripe would be that the bed and pillows were too hard for us but this is a personal preference and a small price to pay for such a pleasant stay.
