We had a pleasant experience at the Zafiro. The weather was a little on the cool side for our trip, but obviously this is by no means any reflection of the hotel. The pools were all still open, but obviously there was no one in them as it was too cold. I did find them a little dirty nonetheless. We visited the family spa pool, but this was dirty so we had to call for someone to remove the hair and insects with a net, which they kindly did. The rooms were nice and spacious with view of the complex which was nice. Decent sized bathroom, bed with good amenities including a kettle, ironing board. The terrace had some nice space. The Market buffet was an interesting experience. The food was usually luke warm on the buffet stands, sometimes actually cold, which was most unexpected for a 5* establishment, but perhaps I was expecting too much. The quality of ingredients wasn't exactly premium, but again, perhaps I am expecting too much. The A la carte restaurants were hit and miss. A nice welcome drink on arrival was always welcome, however the ingredient quality at the Japanese restaurant was a little low budget. The Sushi wasn't premium quality, more so comparative to that of High street chain wasabi perhaps. The beef tenderloin wasn't tender, but I guess the overall meal was better than the buffet, perhaps? We really enjoyed El Olivio, I thought the food here was the best of the bunch, with a wider selection of food, and at least it was hot and fresher. The Turbot was particularly tasty. Overall, we didn't get to experience the full capacity of the Zafiro, but nonetheless we had an average time. Not quite worth the price perhaps, but that is the cost of holidays in general these days.
