Hotel Saint-Louis en l'Isle - Notre-Dame

Absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is a lovely French boutique hotel with very friendly, helpful reception staff….Dennis, Layal & Ludwig all deserve high praise ( & all speak English). Downstairs in the rock room, the breakfast attendant, Marisca is so sweet and helpful, even though she speaks no english. This hotel, situated on a quiet island, has easy access by several bridges and is a 5 minute walk to Notre Dame. Be aware that they have a winding staircase that is accessed for all rooms except the first floor. Highly recommend this hotel

This hotel is in a great location and is a good price for value. It’s very clean and charming building. The only thing is that the website never said the size of the rooms and mine was as wide as a double bed. There was no place to open two suitcases. I would’ve like to have a little more room and maybe a place to sit. With two people in there it was very tight. The other thing that I really did not like, and that was highly unusual, was that the elevator stops between two floors! you either got off the elevator and walked down seven steps or up seven steps. I just can’t handle tiny circular steps with my luggage. If I had known that, it would have been a dealbreaker. The staff was pleasant and the breakfast was quite nice with a good assortment and fresh Bread and pastries. We appreciate that it came with the room since we booked four nights. I would not stay here again next time though.

Booked two rooms, prepaid, at the St Louis hotel a few days before the Olympics. While the hotel itself seemed nice they should not have had it available for booking at that time. The streets were closed off with armed guards and you needed a QR code scanned by the guards to get anywhere near the hotel. We booked same day so it is not possible the hotel did not know this difficulty. At midnight we stood on the street with our kids and pleaded with the guards to let us near the hotel area as we had no where else to sleep. The guards called the hotel to see if they could come get us with a QR code to let us in and the hotel refused to do so, even though it was 100 meters away. That night I sent an email to the manager and HR manager with no response. Later my husband spoke to the manager and asked for a refund. He offered to "split it with us" and when we refused said he had "housekeepers to pay" and "take it up with our bank". While this was a stressful time for Parisians and businesses in the city (you can read it in the news), they say ones true nature is shown in times of stress. An English family walked by us and as I explained the situation and said "this wouldn't happen in the US", she said "it shouldn't happen anywhere". Its true. I would advise all Americans and others accustomed to good customer service to stay elsewhere. There was no humanity with these people.

Beautiful, quaint and clean, and in an amazing location, our lovely top room had a wonderful view. Staff available 24/7 always polite and helpful. Breakfast very good, apart from the coffee, sadly this was from a dispensing machine. There are lovely shops and eateries around the hotel.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect setting. Our top floor double had loads of character with sloping ceilings, quirky shaped bathroom and 2 small balconies with lovely views. We’re both tall and had no problems with the sloping ceilings. As mentioned in other reviews there is a very small lift which stops mid-floor but this is not unusual in Parisian hotels and is part of the charm. Staff were all friendly and helpful too. Really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is simply charming! The breakfast was a wonderful way to begin each day, and the location was perfect. It is an easy walk to most sites. The shower was large and plenty of hot water, and the wifi was fast. Also, there are several yummy restaurants close by. Thank you!!
