LA LOUISIANE

I have difficulties to consider this as hotel, or I would rate it between 1 to 2 stars hotel. Location is really good, in a seemly safe area too. Room, floor and permise seems old, which is fair, but without a refresh, the carpet on the floor was old, consumed and dusty. Water in the shower was working at intermittent. Staff some seemed disinterested to the client, however owner seemed engaged and care more about the people. The price I had pay per night was far above (more than 200 euro per nigh) of what I would expect. If you go for tourism, consider that is a very basic equipped but near bars and restaurants where you could eat… no to be considered if traveling for business.

There are cameras on each floor, keycards that show who has been in the room. Still management acted unprofessionally in this matter. Just informed me that cleaning lady had not taken them. I listen to music each night before sleep and did NOT take them outside of the room. Plus Bluetooth could not connect to them, so they were not in the room, I wrote a complaint to the hotel, while we were still there. Didn't receive an answer before I after 2 days, had returned home and requesting a reply to my complaint. They claimed the Airpods were found and they would leave them in the lost and found drawer at the hotel. NEVER had such a bad and unprofessional experience. Can not recommend this hotel in any way.

Location, location, location! It's not easy to find accommodations for a family of five, for a reasonable price, in Paris. Louisiane delivered -- though just barely! They gave us a room with one queen and two twin beds, and we had to do some creative bed-making to make this useable for parents with three young teens, but it worked. The room was eclectic, weirdly-shaped, and charming, just like the Latin Quarter itself; we loved the rooftop view, and the tiny bathroom with its soaker tub! Five-star resort? Definitely not. The place is old and budget, and you won't be overwhelmed with luxury amenities. But it's full of character and history, a building crammed with the stories of the lives lived inside it, and you can feel them. Every type of restaurant and attraction you could want is within an easy walk, the streets hopping with nightlife. Highly recommend if you want a taste of "real" Latin Quarter. Fantastic experience!

Many thanks to Xavier Blanchot and the whole team of this wonderful hotel. From this hotel, one can walk everywhere in Paris. It is so central and convenient. La Louisianne is unlike any other establishment. Atypical, its incredible location in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés for an unbeatable price-quality offer. Family and historical hotel. Literary and loving contemporary art. Huge international names have succeeded and still do today. So many musicians, writers, artists, cineasts who have left their DNA and their energy all around. The rooms are very pleasant and isolated from street life. I recommend without any limit. In gratitude, Sophie Marie

I traveled with a large group and we stayed one night at the La Louisiane, the room I had was great didn’t over look the street but was so quiet. The room was comfortable with everything I needed. The staff were awesome and so accommodating. Would definitely stay again. Can not beat the location!

The Hotel does not inform you prior to arrival that check in is only at 17h not at 13h as mentioned on their facebook page. They do not provide consigne so if you arrive early from a foreign country you will have no where to store your luggage until check in time at 17h. The passages to the rooms are not clean and cursory cleaning is done of your room when you are staying there. The worst is if you have booked a quiet room on the courtyard when you arrive you will be told in no uncertain manner that you don't have a room on the courtyard but on the street and that they are under no obligation to give you what you want. The nightclub noise on Saturday night resonates throughout the hotel as does the noise of all its revellers. No excuse given.

I have often stayed at La Louisiane if not very recently as now have my own apt near by. Always found it very welcoming and charming with a great helpful staff and a ideal location. Have recommended it to numerous discerning friends who all loved it and returned when in Paris. Noticed recently a particularly nasty review and felt compelled to write that that person lacked taste and appreciation for this historic hotel! Their loss! To me La Louisiane represents the soul of my favorite city.

Xavier Blanchot and his employee Jacek have ghosted me on an agreement we made to schedule a month in this hotel, which I originally booked before the pandemic. (January 2020) Since then they have kept 1195 euro of my money and for the last two months have completely refused to answer my emails asking for confirmation of the dates of my stay and the price for a room in April 2022. These kind of shenanigans have been going on for 17 months. I originally booked this through Airbnb. Airbnb had no role in the dispute after I cancelled my reservation based on a written agreement from Xavier Blanchot and Jacek that I could re-book the room anytime up to May 2022. Now the two of them, without having to contend with Airbnb as an intermediary, have free reign to simply keep my money. Not only did they refuse to refund my money in May 2020 when it became clear that the pandemic was going to last, insisting that they would give me "credit" -- this when Americans weren't even allowed in Europe -- they have violated our agreement. I would strongly suggest staying far away from this hotel. If you were to find yourself in a situation in which you had to count of them to do the right thing, you could end up being very disappointed, especially if it involves money. To be clear I did not stay in this hotel. I had to pick a place-holder travel date to be able to warn fellow travellers about this place.

After Lockdown eased a bit, (I had both Jabs). I immediately booked Eurostar to Paris. Finally a breath of fresh air without the confusion of Mask On-Mask Off, Curfew or Quarantines. Xavier, Charlotte and Team are gracious Hosts as is all the Staff. Located in the 6th., it's steps away from shopping, Cafes and nightlife. Also, it's close to all our Fashion Clients, etc. Definitely Check in...
