Hotel Riviera Renovated

Very small rooms, paint is falling off the walls. Bathroom is so small you can barely sit on the toilet and heat in there is unbearable. The walls are so thin you can hear not only your neighbours in the hotel but also everything outside. Considering the price I would accept all of the “problems” above, but on the last night of our stay a mouse ran through the room into the hole that was in the corner of the bathroom. After going to reception the staff gave us another room.

Chanced upon this hotel when looking for accommodation in Paris. However, I didn’t expect the hotel to be so far off from the city.

We stayed here when we were in Paris to watch the rugby World Cup. Hotel is very much what you pay for, basic however cheap. Good location next to lots of cafes and transport links- a fair distance from any main tourist attractions. The hotels perfect if you’re planning to be out and day/night and only need somewhere to sleep. The rooms are small and views are poor however staff friendly and cleaned every morning.

Budget hotel in decent location. About 10-15min walk from Gare du Nord and the same to Blvd de Clichy and Mon**artre and the Moulin Rouge. Surrounded by bistros, cafes and restaurants. Our room was very small, but I believe this is often the case in Paris hotels. No AirCon and it was very hot so did get uncomfortable at times, however a fan was in the room and the windows did open so we were able to get some air in the room. Bathroom was tiny, could have done with an extra couple of inches of room around the toilet! Shower was small cubicle but decent water pressure and plenty of hot water. Only one bedside table, and storage was limited so we did end up leaving all clothes in suitcase and having to open/close it each day but this was manageable. Plenty of plug sockets. Bed was comfortable, but could have done with an extra pillow or two. Room was cleaned each day, staff friendly. Lift is very small and clunky so if you aren't good in small spaces I'd avoid it. Website mentions free wifi and breakfast, however neither were mentioned at check in and the in room information stated that wifi was payable. We made do with our phone data when we had signal and ate out so neither was an issue for us.

Nous avons avec mon compagnon passé une nuit dans cet hôtel sur Paris en rentrant de vacances. L’accueil s’est bien passé même si la personne de l’accueil n’était pas forcément très agréable. Quel ne fut pas notre surprise quand, à peine arrivés dans notre chambre, nous avons vu un insecte courir sous le bureau, il s’agissait d’un cafard. Nous l’avons de suite écrasé (ci joint en photo). Fatigué de notre journée, et étant arrivé à l’hôtel très tard, nous n’avions d’autres choix que de rester dans cet hôtel malgré une insalubrité constatée. Bien entendu, nous avons très mal dormi par peur que les cafards ne viennent nous rendre visite dans le lit ou montent dans les valises.. pour un hôtel à 3 étoiles à plus de 100€ la nuit, c’est choquant. Deuxième surprise quelques heures plus tard quand nous avons été réveillé vers 7/8H par des travaux effectués juste au dessus de notre chambre ! Aucune isolation dans la chambre, entre les travaux, les portes qui claquent, les personnes qui parlent dans le couloir, on entendez tout. Conclusion : nuit non reposante, mauvaise expérience pour notre part. Vous pouvez trouver mieux que cet hôtel, je ne le recommande pas.
