11 günlük Kosta Rika gezimizin başlangıcında bir gece ve ardından havaalanına ve havaalanından kolay transfer sağlamak için Kosta Rika'daki son gecemizde bu otelde kaldık. Kahvaltı harika! Havuz alanı ve dış mekanlar, tüm sincapların atıştırmalıklarımıza göz dikmesine rağmen harikaydı. Odalar geniş (yüksek tavanlar ve küvetler!!). Şehir merkezine ve harika kahve dükkanı mahallesine 10-15 dakikalık bir Uber yolculuğu mesafesinde olduğu için konumu iyi. Çok güvenli ve temiz. Personel harikaydı.

Çok iyi değil, resepsiyonistler kaba ve misafirperver değil, havaalanına bir asansör ayarlamak için zil görevlisini görmemiz söylendi ve bizi masasında yaklaşık 10 valiz organize ederek bıraktı ve sonra onları çeşitli odalara teslim etmek için yürüdü. Oda bilgilerinde yazdığı gibi kahvaltıya 05.00'te gittik ve çıkış yaparken 05.30'da açıldığını söylediler. Uçağımızı yakalamamız ve havaalanına kendi yolumuzu bulmamız gerekiyordu, bu yüzden kahvaltı yoktu.

Undiscovered gem of a hotel near San Pedro. Pros: We were looking for a place on the lower end of the price spectrum that was a one night romantic getaway for two, that I could also use my free trip coins at toward the cost of the room. Preferably including breakfast and a swimming pool with jacuzzi 😉 Not much to ask! We booked one of the cheaper rooms on the ground floor. Before check in we took an Uber to San Pedro mall to do some essential shopping and see a movie. Then we checked in and I relaxed in the jacuzzi under the San José night sky while my husband enjoyed a full workout in the gym/weights room. TV with cable was great for my husband who enjoyed the football while I enjoyed the hot shower and relaxed in the bed afterwards. We had an amazingly comfortable sleep and a delicious breakfast in the morning of gallo pinto, fresh tropical fruits, freshly squeezed watermelon juice and hot coffee. A generous check out time of 12pm meant we had more than enough time to get our things together and leave when it suited. Cons: Not many cons at this price point and value. The guy at the desk was a bit weird when we asked him for a second glass for water as there was only one in the room but not a big deal. We also had to ask him for the TV remote. The towels were a bit small like a mini dress on me after my shower. But good quality (with a third extra towel for the jacuzzi) and high quality bed linen. It also is in a slightly rough looking neighborhood but this is not a problem if you travel to and from the hotel by Uber or use a hire car (which you can park privately inside the property). Overall impression: The other photos on trip.com and similar booking sites do not do this hotel justice - it looks far better in person. It has real character since it is a restored historic hotel from an era bygone, but that is why everything is such high quality from the bed linen to the floor tiles. Everything is also in good shape and freshly painted. There a little hidden nooks around the hotel that make it very charming. The breakfast area is lovely and the jacuzzi, pool and water slide were a real highlight. We WILL be back.

If you're looking to explore San Jose, or have a basecamp for exploring the rest of Costa Rica, this hotel offers a great central location, situated right in the middle of San José. Good for walking to restaurants or shops in the city, or joining one of the several sight-seeing excursions which can be easily arranged by the hotel. The rooms are nice, though the decor is a bit dated. The common areas are also well designed for lounging while reading a book or getting to know your fellow travelers staying on the same floor. The breakfast buffet was fairly common for a hotel offering breakfast in Costa Rica, but good, and the area also doubles as a bar at night. Other amenities include a gym with free weights and a couple machines, along with two saunas, one dry and one steam.

🌟 5-Star Review for Hostel Casa Colón, San José I had a fantastic stay at Hostel Casa Colón — it exceeded my expectations in every way. The location is incredibly convenient, especially if you’re heading to or from the airport or bus terminals. The staff were welcoming and helpful, offering great local tips. My room was clean, secure, and surprisingly quiet despite being in the city. The common areas are stylish and spacious, with a cozy on-site restaurant that serves excellent breakfast and coffee. It truly felt more like a boutique guesthouse than a typical hostel. Highly recommend for solo travelers, couples, or anyone looking for comfort and value in San José.

sabana studios are a a great and econimal way to stay in the capital, the only thing is that its very hard to find its location as when I went they didn't have any signage as to where they are. Please find out exactly the location of the office before you got as I got a bit lost and took me asking someone to direct me. I had no internet at the time so I couldn't call .One of the friendly locals used his mobile to ask about the location and that's how I finally found it. all in all it was a positive experience.  The apartment is located close to a nice park for walking and relaxing.  there are some options for food but you need to check the surrounding area on a mmap before blindingly walking out hoping to find an area where restaurants are.

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Balmoral San José. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, which made it easy to relax in. The beds were very comfortable and we slept really well throughout our stay. One thing to be aware of is that many rooms — including all of the Superior Plus rooms — have their windows facing into a dark gap between the buildings rather than outside. This means you don’t get natural light or a view, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the staff were absolutely great — friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist. Overall, a very good hotel in an excellent central location, and we would happily stay here again.
