Bastas Hotel & Studios

We stayed for 2 weeks in a self-catering studio. The room was quite basic but had everything we needed, and a lovely balcony. The pool is very nice, and the bar staff can rustle up some decent food. The location is only a short walk from the village shops and resturants, and not too far to walk to the beach. The best thing about Bastas is the staff, who are so friendly and helpful, and provide an excellent minibus/taxi service too.

If you want a clean, quiet, reasonably priced hotel in Lakka this fits the bill perfectly. Yes the rooms are a little tired and there is no lift but who cares. The rooms are kept spotless, all staff are very friendly and there is a pool with snack bar. The village centre of Lakka is 50 meters down a gentle slope. If you want 5* this is not for you, buy if you want a reasonably priced holiday in a stunning location give this place is worth a try. We went with Olympic Holidays and everything went exactly as promised.

This was a bit of a last minute break and as we have recently started trying some of the smaller Greek islands thought we would give this a try. Will be honest price paid a huge amount in our decision as this seemed very cheap compared to most other options available to us ( flight from Edinburgh). Based on price weren’t sure what to expect. Definitely did not expect level of service we received- it was excellent. We stayed in Room 25 which had partial sea view, room was clean and everything worked as it should. Room was, in our opinion, better than the typical Greek accommodation. Read a few of the negative reviews and for what it’s worth these are my answers to them. Kitchen area being small. It is, however had a kettle and a toaster which other than fridge was all we used. Though it does have small oven/hot plate so if you really want to you could have cooked something. TBH didn’t find it any smaller than motorhome trips we have been on. Bathroom again small but fully functional, albeit shower a little underpowered. Pool area really nice with a decent bar, didn’t eat here but food was available. Bar at front of hotel nice too. We rented a car direct from hotel through the owner, Babis (really nice guy), picked a small car as some of the roads very narrow. Got a new Peugeot 108 great for narrow roads but possibly a little underpowered for some of the real steep roads on the island. Hotel also runs a daily bus to nearby beach, free of charge, as we hired car didn’t use this facility but it does mean you wouldn’t have to hire a car if you didn’t fancy driving. All of the staff we interacted with were lovely, though as family run hotel suspect a lot are family. Nonetheless they were all really nice. Would not hesitate to recommend or if we return to Lakka would stay here again without hesitation.

This hotel is really good a 3star hotel supplying a 5 star service the rooms are spotless sheets and towels nearly every other day the staff and family who run this hotel are amazing nothing is to much trouble always helpful with a smile great location fantastic staff and a really good price we will certainly be returning to the Bastas hotel Lakka

This small run family hotel ticks most boxes for a great holiday stay in Lakka. Location is fantastic, a couple of minutes walk into Lakka , where you have everything you need. The Pool is fab & so are the people who run it. The only slight downside is that the rooms are in need of upgrading especially the bathrooms. Katherina was very helpful & told us about Akros Beach, a 15 min walk starting from behind the pool but well worth it!

Our first visit to the beautiful island of Paxos and definitely not the last. The hotel was really lovely, friendly atmosphere especially the pool bar and very clean. Perfect location just a couple of minutes walk to the picturesque harbour and lots of great tavernas. There are so many fantastic walks and beaches that, although sometimes tricky to get to, are well worth the trek. The boat to Antipaxos is a must. Beautiful sandy beaches and no stones. Loggos and Gaios are very pretty. Buses will take you to both but you can walk to Loggos from the hotel and then relax in one of the lovely tavernas before the trek back. A wonderful, relaxing holiday

The rooms are basic but the kitchen has everything you need to self-cater but with so many food options just a stones throw away. The staff are so friendly and polite. Katerina on the reception is so friendly and genuinely enthusiastic, especially when conversing about the island. The view from the pool area is picture perfect.Paxos is the prefect island for walking. All in all, just as previous reviews,a great atmosphere

Fabulous small family run hotel in a brilliant location, only a couple of minutes walk to all the bars and restaurants and the lovely harbour front. Swimming pool is a great size, really clean with a pool bar serving drinks, breakfast and snacks. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Kettle, toaster, combination oven and fridge so you are able to make a small meal if you want to. Fresh sheets and towels every few days and rooms cleaned thoroughly. Evening bar, open from 6pm, very friendly with a good choice of drinks. We have stayed at Bastas many times and can highly recommend.

We needed a "Paxos Fix" for a week without spending the amount that would be necessary for a small villa. Family and friends have stayed at Bastas and spoken very highly of the place, but perhaps more significantly, of the staff and the service. We went with their recommendations and are so glad we did. During our stay we met people who come back year after year and we can easily see why. Yes, there are small things that may not be impeccable with regard to the room (which perhaps means that 5 stars ought not to be given) but based on the cleanliness, daily room management, friendliness of the staff, pool facilities and general relaxed and happy atmosphere created by Babis and his team, this was a really lovely holiday experience. Nothing is too much trouble. The location is also excellent so that the many restaurants and bars are close at hand in a nice traditional Greek fishing village setting. Will we be one of the many "returners"? Yes, without doubt.
