AVOID. I booked the wrong date by mistake, tried to cancel less than a minute after I paid and showed them proof I wouldn't be in the country for the booking, and they refused to let me cancel or offer a refund. When I contacted Trip customer service they told me there's nothing they can do because the hotel said they don't want to give the money back, even though it would be impossible to use the room - what a scam.
Not allowing even a 5 minute window for cancellations/refunds in case a customer makes a mistake is crazy.
