Ciao, We planned a family visit and discovered the Nena’ online. We we looking to have an authentic Italian village experience in the town my grandparents were born. My 92 year-old mom always wanted to visit the place where her parents were born and we found the perfect place to fill her dream. Our host, Carlo, was wonderful with my mom and my family. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a very special experience. All our Food and beverages from our breakfasts to the special meals we requested were all made fresh and delizioso! We had a wonderful and joyful time at a cooking class. His staff was attentive and enthusiastic about our visit and they could not have been any kinder. Carlo was also a great guide on our excursions. We had a magical vacation. Mille grazie!

Beautiful place, tidy, clean, well maintained while keeping the ancient features! the owner tended to our needs in a beautiful way. He even walked us to the nearest dining place. Excellent experience and hospitality was at the highest level!

Pico is a small village 45 km from the sea. In the middle of August when we were there the place of about 100 inhabitants was packed due to the Saint Mary and gnocchi festival. We had no idea when we booked it, but it ended up being the highlight of our trip. The 30-45min of driving to the sea were so well worth it (money wise, accommodation and car rental). In Pico we basically had 5 days of local festivities, great local food and wine, people dancing the middle of the street in the evening , even some choreographed moves, traffic stopped for everybody to enjoy the food, the live music, the dances, the conversations, the pizza, warm all around “buona giornata” and “buonasera” every day. We might have been the only foreigners there but they made us feel Italian. Pico will forever be tattooed in our great holiday memories. Carlo and his beautiful place were all part of this. Take a risk and book its place. Enjoy the ambiance and the ride!

There are not enough great things we can say about our stay at Nena. The town of Pico, our accommodations at Nena and our host Carlo were all absolutely fabulous! Carlo is a star. He showed us a great time at his favorite pizza restaurant followed by a night walking tour of the town and castle. We look forward to our return trip.

A fantastic ancient building with unbeatable atmosphere and a wonderful host. Everything was clean and neat. It may seem slightly expensive, but it was well worth every euro. Close to everything in town.

We loved every moment of our stay in Pico. Carlo, our host was so accommodating, charming, and informative. The cooking classes were so fun and informative. The accommodations were quaint and clean. There was so much to see in this amazing castle town. I hope to return one day.

Nena al Borgo Castello is a wonderful place to stay in an interesting part of Italy. The rooms are comfortable, well appointed, and quiet But the real attraction is the food and the atmosphere that the great host has achieved. Carlo is charming and knowledgeable and has created an authentic country experience including fresh local foods. Highly recommended

We visited Nena al Borgo for the 3rd time this autumn, arriving very tired after an overnight flight from the US. Carlo greeted us warmly, as always and after a quick freshening up, we sat down to one of his wonderful dinners. Freshly made pasta with his own ingredients, including olive oil from his orchards. You’ll never leave hungry! Pico is a small village with a lot to offer. There are hikes up into the hills, as well as many historical towns in the area that are well worth visiting. So, it’s the perfect place to stay, for rest and relaxation as well as for more active exploration of the surroundings. I can’t wait to return to this wonderful Inn.

This was our second stay at Nenà and hopefully will not be our last. It is a charming place situated in the narrow streets of a lovely medieval village. Carlo is a wonderful host who greets you with a friendly welcome. He is intelligent, informative, and genuine. After a few days together we feel like lifelong friends. We stayed in the Stanze del Vescovo—a suite consisting of a bedroom and sitting room. The bed was quite comfortable and the suite is decorated with attractive antiques. There is free parking in the nearby piazza and street. If you are flying into Rome and then driving to a distant location, Nenà is an excellent stopping point. Wonderful memories!
