Shepherds Tree Game Reserve

My friends and I were guests at the lodge for one night. The facility is well maintained and clean. You feel very welcome from the first second. All the staff are so helpful, caring but most of all so welcoming. Our ranger Peter in particular was our highlight for us. He gave us the best safari of our lives. Peter knows so much, shares his knowledge, can read tracks, is so personable and sweet. We'll be back! Thank you for this experience

I might be a bit biased as I used to be connected to the lodge in the past but seeing it bloom now made us very happy with it. We have no reasons to complain about any of the departments at all. We were very well looked after and had a very pleasant stay. The lodge and the grounds are well groomed and maintained. The location is one of the best attributes of it. Cigar Bar has great views and the dining/conferencing area is lovely as well. The lodge does not have a big sprawling watering hole ( it has one though) but is really beautifully appointed and the concession area is really great. The interiors are tastefully decorated, the food and presentation are very good. The pool area is very nice and small pools at certain rooms are a nice addition. I would recommend spring/summer visit as storms are spectacular over the Pilanesberg and the Lodge has good spots to observe those while staying safe. The spa is lovely and even has it’s own nice range of products and even kids massage! The lodge also employs a shuttle van when needed. The internet is also good. In general I can recommend it with no doubt. Our guide Sibu was great but I am sure all guides will be to your satisfaction. Oupa looked after us in all our special needs and reception staff were all attentive and helpful. One can see that Tumi - the Manager genuinely cares about the establishment and does his best to make it great and memorable for guests as well as a good place for it’s staff.

disgusting impression. the general manager is the most rude, arrogant and boorish of all hotels in my life. They made two debits from my card and stated that the payment was rejected, although the bank debited my money. The hotel's cellular network does not work. so you have to go to the entrance gate to call or receive an SMS from the bank. I understood this specifically so that they would call for a fee from the number. this is a way to earn money. A/c out of work. We changed room after long debates

Our guide Anja was exceptional. she was very knowledgeable on all aspects of our daily tours and went out of her way to answer all our questions not matter how silly or trivial they were. We loved her commentary and her great sense of humour. The ivory tree Lodge is a great place to stay the facilities are superb. If you want to see the big 5 in Africa I couldn't recommend this place highly enough,it was terrific.

We have stayed for 8 nights in the Shepherd's Tree Game Lodge and our stay has exceeded our wildest expectations. The resort is so beautiful, the whole staff is exceptionally friendly, the game drives were spectacular (we were so blessed with the head rtnger Sbu!!!) the food deserves a Michelin star (of 2) , the rooms are spacious and luxery.

From start to finish, our stay at Shepherd’s Tree Game Lodge was simply breathtaking! This place in the heart of the Pilanesberg National Park has everything you could wish for in a luxurious and unforgettable safari experience. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, who provided exceptional service throughout our stay. The lodge itself is an oasis of peace and comfort, with beautifully decorated rooms that are both elegant and in complete harmony with nature. The rooms offer sweeping views over the bush, giving you the feeling of being right in the middle of nature – what a view to wake up to! Every game drive was an adventure in itself. Our guide Sbu was extremely professional and had a vast knowledge of the nature and animals. Thanks to his expertise, we saw the Big Five and learned a lot about the environment and the ecosystem of the park. It is clear that the rangers here are passionate about their work, which made every trip a special experience. The food was also fantastic! The chefs know how to spoil their guests with delicious fine-dining dishes that perfectly combine local flavors with international influences. Every meal felt like a culinary surprise, prepared with great care and attention. The atmosphere at Shepherd’s Tree is luxurious, but at the same time relaxed and personal. You really feel seen and cared for here, as if you are part of a family. For those looking for a unique safari experience with a touch of luxury and exclusivity, Shepherd’s Tree is the ideal place. We will definitely come back here and can recommend it to anyone who wants to experience South Africa at its best. In short: highly recommended for an unforgettable stay in South Africa!
