Nice hotel, good food. Nice staff. Clean hotel. Could offer more cocktail drink variety.

Pay attention to the negative feedback!!! A family of 8 is seeking a week of sunshine. Upon entering our rooms, an unpleasant sewerage smell overwhelmed us. We had to keep all windows and doors open to try to eliminate the odor, which was accompanied by a musty dampness and moldy scent. After voicing my concerns to TUI, I was summoned to the hotel manager's office where I felt scolded like a student. Although offered a room change, I hesitated to accept it, as I believed the entire hotel needed a thorough cleaning. Cleanliness seems to be a significant issue at this hotel that requires immediate attention. All 8 of us have experienced respiratory problems, possibly due to the rooms being infested with black mold. The beds are extremely uncomfortable, and the mattresses are reminiscent of something from a horror film! Steer clear of this place at all costs.

From the get go I was not impressed,first of all we were given an unreadable map to find our room and sent on our way with a brief description which way to go by a poor English speakinging receptionist,when we eventually got to our room with thee help of a guest,my son quickly realised there was no Internet,then my wife smelt urine in the bed room,all the furniture is very dated with chuncks of laminate missing on all tables and beds,the fridge had at some point rusted all along the base of the door and it had been shoddily painted,the ceiling in the bathroom was shoddily replanted and had drooped and cracked,there was no extraction in the bathroom that's why the ceiling was the way it was,you had to wipe the mirror after showering,shower was OK if you could see in the bathroom,it was all conviently dark brown,there was no plug on bathroom sink and plug hole and base of mirror had rusted and flacked,the towels were older than me,going back to the bedroom the beds were kids sizes and obviously old with no support,I ended up with an aching back,when I reported the smell of urine they did respond by spraying air freshener,the place needed a total make over,the food was terrible,recycled garbage the same every day.....the safest thing to eat were the pizzas,honestly terrible,an you had to fight the ques for this stuff they called food,the pool side bar/cafe ,drinks OK although not a great choice,food snide chips with rubber burgers and cheapest chicken nuggets on the planet,all the kids video games I used to play when I was a kid (old),the entertainment if you can call it that was guess how many beans in a jar,higher or lower in cards ha ha,if like me you save for over a year for a family holiday please don't go here,for 4 star it is disgraceful,the Latte was the only thing kept me going...it was ok

Absolute joke this place was put me off going back to Lanzarote tbh, food was sh** was literally same food everyday, this place is not the one to go to go anywhere other than HL PARADISE! Ants n bugs all in room was there for 10days beds got changed once was a nigh**are in hell for 10days very unclean!

I will start off with a positive we arrived in the evening and initially when looking round thought,this was a lovely hotel at very good price,one of our suitcases got taken off at a previous hotel,but it got dealt with quickly and was back with us by midnight. when we got up that morning, u could see the room needed a little tlc but looks it was a nice hotel originally. what I can describe as ants but wernt was crawling all over the sides and a few cocroaches we just sprayed the room with mosquito spray and went to enjoy our day. although we had to look through the plates and cups to find a clean one when it came to eating we ate and drank, for it to get to 8pm and someone in party became ill, the next morning another 4 of us was we was a party of 7 and had to spend the day in bed! when complaining and asking for clean cutlery staff took offence to it! and manager just kept trying to fob us off! she offered to send a doctor 4 free but we refused as it seemed pointless as we already knew it had to be the food that had caused it! After a day of been sick we woke up to a flooding bathroom, they moved us quick enough but this is an example of the rooms needing to be maintained correctly. When I went to sort this issue out the manager told me to complain to my tour operator before she even heard what my issues where,I believe she had an attitude towards me because of the complaints from the day before. we wasn't the only customers complaining and been sick,everywhere we turned people where saying the same thing and trying to get moved hotels. the pool area was quite and you could just see people looked ill!! I wrote a complaint and sent photos in and love holidays have said we should of called them, but have given me a courtesy £57 refund. It's not about the refund after seeing the photos I provided u can see basic cleanliness is not being kept and down to this people are becoming ill! it doesn't matter what star rating a place is! cleanliness and food being cooked and stored correctly is a standard that should not be dropped and if alot of people are complaining of the same thing,it should be looked and acted upon! not just shoved under the carpet, I know myself I certainly do not pay to go on holiday and be sick for the duration of it due to poor hygiene!

A full review will follow when we leave here on the 29th December. So as by the date of this review we are still here. The hotel is awful. Unfortunately we aren't able to change hotels so just making the best of it. Rooms are OK. A bit dated but what do you really need as you only sleep in them. But the beds are very uncomfortable. The sofa bed is extremely uncomfortable but again that's to be expected as most holidays you go on are the same. The real problem is the food and the a**osphere. The food is awful. My wife and daughter are quite fussy so again that's not down to the hotel. But I'm not. I will eat most things but even I'm struggling with it. There are some great people here . But unfortunately there is a very large amount of people running round extremely drunk. The behaviour and demeanour of those people is horrendous. I could go on but I'm sure people get the point ( I'm an ex bouncer so am used to it ). The water park that comes with the hotel is very run down and is not the way its been made to look on the holiday sites. All in all I would avoid this hotel. They tell you at the desk you can use there sister club hl club playa blanca but fail to mention hl rio . Once again we will write a full review when we are back. But we are pretty much out of the hotel every day and spending our time at hl rio . Red bands are hl paradise island. Purple bands hl rio. As you will see our bands are red. So it's not a fake review.

I wanted to give my honest opinion after reading reviews before arriving and scaring myself. Firstly the food choice was brilliant, there was always something for my fussy eaters. The pools were well kept, unfortunately the main slides in the water park were being refurbished however the hotel provided us a free trip to the water park which included free travel and lunch. Was a wonderful day out, well worth going. The rooms were clean and spacious, the cleaners came every day and did a wonderful job, great shower and the front balcony had a stunning sea view. Evening entertainment was ok, would have liked to have seen a little more variety than singing acts but it was still engaging and the children enjoyed it. The only two negatives were the towels never smelt fresh, they were changed every day but they had a really strong damp smell which was disappointing. Also I felt that under the outside shelter where the evening entertainment is held, should be a smoking free zone. Wasn’t nice having lots of adults smoking around myself and the children in an area which had a roof, there are plenty of other areas where people could go to smoke. This area also gets very cramped and I was concerned that one of the children could get accidentally burned. All in all we had a wonderful week with our 10 and 6 year old children and we would definitely come back

Brilliant hotel, wasnt sure about other reviews at first, but we had the best time! Food was amazing and something for everyone all the time! The pools were amazing, lots of sun beds! Some of the slides were closed but hotel offered free trip to water park which was fab! Location is brilliant the hotel staff and others we spoke to were lovely as well!

The place is definitely not a 4 star resort. Overcrowded and loud, definitely not a hope for relaxing time. After arrival we had to change the room, the one we were given was full of sewage smell. Staff was nice to allow the room change. However the other room was full of cockroaches and other insects. We had to ask staff to help us to kill it, they gave us sprays for spraying the room but that didn't help and we had to live with the everyday visits from lovely bugs... Food was not good, on occasion something was edible, otherwise a lot of fried fast food, some Chinese, some Italian, overall nothing local, nothing fresh and definitely nothing Spanish (I won't be mentioning paella that was mostly inedible) my son didn't want to eat anything and we struggled to find something suitable. All inclusive means cheap drinking by the pool which resulted in quite a large amount of drunks by the pool, not a pleasant view. Smoking was allowed and was not pleasant for people who did not smoke. Swimming pool was freezing, not heated at all, it was difficult to enjoy time in the water. Rooms very not very clean, although cleaned daily, pool was dirty, everything was run down and in need of renovation. Towels were not super clean, once I had a towel with old bandaid stuck to it 😱 plates, cutlery was oily, not washed properly and many times with food leftovers. Water slides were closed due to renovation so so called waterpark was really non existing. My main reason for booking this place was closed down. Big dissapoin**ent. Staff was friendly, entertainment basic, a bit too scandalous at times, probably better if you are drunk by then 😅Overall we had a good deal so wasn't expecting too much, you get what you pay for. It was our first trip to Lanzarotte and with that experience, not sure we will be back. Maybe to 5 star resorts and definitely not all inclusive. I'd rather enjoy local tapas by the sea side.
