The location in relation to the Theatre Royal couldn’t be more perfect as it’s just across the road and there’s a well lit multi storey car park located round the back of the theatre - literally all within a hop, skip & a jump of each other! The exterior of the hotel isn’t the best to look at, but the interior decor is modern, spacious and clean. The greeting from Ryan on arrival was so warm and welcoming and both him and Regesta made sure we wanted for nothing during our 6 night stay - their level of customer service was outstanding and reminiscent of a 5* London hotel; nothing was too much trouble and always smiling, gracious and efficient. There’s lots to see and a fantastic choice of places to shop, along with places to eat and things to do. I would most definitely return - thank you for a truly wonderful stay!

Simple overnight stay to break up trip collecting child from Uni - good location, good price, comfy bed. This location is rapidly becoming our go-to hotel in Plymouth as so close to the Uni. Just about to book another trip for this week. Highly recommend.

Can't really fault this premier inn, but what really made the stay was the staff, Terri, Chrissi and miranda couldn't do enough to help. Great food, clean room and friendly staff. If I had to find a negative it would be the no on site parking but car parks are close by.

Totally failed the gluten free needs of my wife. We booked on 19 November to stay on 15 December at Derrys Cross for one night inc breakfast. Their website asked us if we had any allergies so they had nearly a month's notice to provide. We arrived at the hotel and let the receptionist know of my wife's need to eat gluten free. That's alright, they replied ,there is a gluten free section in the breakfast bar. We arrived at breakfast where the breakfast bar staff even asked if there were any allergies they should know about. They didn't point out the gluten free section and they did not indicate that they had no gluten free bread products. Had we known this in advance, we would not have booked and prepaid breakfast so my wife had paid £12.50 for a fruit squash, cup of tea, yoghourt and some scrambled egg. OUCH as those were the only options open to her! Naturally, she is unhappy to return which is a pity because Premier Inn were our Go To first choice of hotel. The staff just shrugged their shoulders saying sorry but made no move to make good the issue.

The hotel was ideally placed for the theatre to see the panto. You know what standard you are getting with a Premier Inn (although some failed badly in the past). Derry Cross provided a very comfortable stay and the staff were very friendly and chatty which made a big difference

One of the worst I've stayed in..they had security on the door to check you in. Says it all. There was a noisy air conditioning unit rattling away, boy racers all night, and I was woke up by a woman vomiting outside. The second night,I returned to my room to find all my belongings had disappeared. After speaking to reception, they had all been put in lost property. Hotel is in a deprived part of the city, with derelict buildings all around it. I would stay travel lodge derriford and use the park and ride.

Lovely overnight stay. Very clean room. Free WiFi. Comfy warm bed. Fantastic Plymouth city centre location. Bus, rail, city centre shops, theatre, The Hoe, Barbican and historic sites all in walking distance. No problems with room disturbances. Very nice.

We wanted to visit the theatre Royal Plymouth and decided to stay overnight rather than drive home that night. We chose Premier Inn because of its location just across the road from the theatre without expecting much more than a bed for the night. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of our room including the cleanliness and comfort of the bed.The toiletries were good as was the full breakfast the next day. We happily filled up before we left.

The lighting was a problem, The bulb above the shower, didn't work. Nor did the lamp on the desk. The main bed side lamps flickered when in use. It felt like the springs has broken on one side of the mattress. I couldn't tell whether the 'spare' pillows were clean or nor, because the 'secured' tag on the zip was broken? The windows couldn't be opened, which would have been preferable over the air con. The toilet seemed to continually fill the cistern once flushed, meaning there was an almost constant sound of running water. The floorboards were extremely creaky at the bottom of the bed/by the desk. We could hear movement from the room next to us. The only reason we didn't complain, is because we got back to the hotel at 10:00pm after a day of exploring Plymouth, and were too tired to move rooms. We were up and out of the room by 8:30am
