Absolutely perfect, everything’s has been good. 100% recommend.

For a 3 star hotel,the room ( 813) we experienced, was of a generous size with 2 large balconies, great air conditioning and basically everything needed for a self catering holiday.Room serviced every other day. On our last day we upgraded to all inclusive. Was glad to have tried it but felt it would have been restrictive had we done this for the full week, as so many nice places to visit and eat out if you are prepared to take a short cheap taxi ride. We used bolt, which was very reasonable. Pool decent size, sunbeds scenario no worse than any other holiday, we got to the pool about 9:15 each morning and managed 4 sunbeds together no problem. Location is lovely and quiet for a relaxing holiday, with a few restaurants nearby , beach is very nice within a 10 minute walk. Such a shame a supermarket/small shop not close by for essentials. We took a 5 mins taxi journey into Armacoa de pera a couple times where there is a large Lidl . To sum it up , highly recommend for a reasonably priced, relaxing break.

Beautiful clean reception, bar, corridors and apartment, super remote controlled air conditioning, plenty of storage space,no lifts so it is a struggle with luggage on higher floors, regular cleans and towels only negative is we arrived at 12.30pm and room wasn't ready till 3pm we were hot, tired and just wanted to get changed and settled, download BOLT app very cheap to travel the algarves

Absolutely loved it here! Such a warm home from home vibe. Booked fairly last minute and just wanted somewhere for some R&R, with a pool and close enough to walk to a beach. The beach is great and about a 6 minute walk, walk through the tunnel to the right and you get to the next beach. Apartment was huge, we had a 1 bed (plenty big enough for 4 people) side sea view but actually ended up with the front line apartment facing the sea and with 2 huge balconies! Never wanted to leave that view. Little bakery/cafe at reception is great and convenient. Room was cleaned every other day and fresh towels. Area is quiet so not the place to go if you want lively, but there are restaurants and a mini market in walking distance. You can hire a car from reception which we had planned to do but then didn't get round to it, instead we got a taxi into the town one day which cost 10euros had a wander and did the bengil caves boat trip then caught the land train back, nice and easy. There is an entertainment team around the pool, the kiddy club was mainly for under 6yeats old with arts and crafts, kids looked like they were having fun and then there were activities on the hour like table tennis, darts, volleyball etc, my kids are older and enjoyed joining in those. We thought drinks were expensive for the size at the pool bar and cocktails weren't brilliant that's probably the only down side. We loved the mix of nationalities around the pool, although busy we always managed to get sunbeds. Nice to have a pool where kids can play with inflatables and balls, but equally it was never an issue swimming lengths. We had such a good time that we plan on coming back next year! Hopefully we can get the same apartment number

Having just spent 2 weeks at this hotel , I can say the accommodation was spacious and clean , the food enjoyable , reception and restaurant staff lovely . We stayed fully inclusive enabling us to have drinks at the pool bar until 7pm . There is another bar on site named the Sweet spot if I remember rightly . Unfortunately food is only available to purchase and drinks are only available between 7pm and 11pm . It is a public bar so anyone passing by or locals frequent the pub . The highlight of our stay has to be the entertainment staff Pedro, Carolina and Salvi !! They go absolutely above and beyond to keep you entertained and nothing is too much trouble , with little resources compared to the bigger hotel and outside entertainment provided only 3 nights per week .they will be sure to keep you entertained with their energy, kindness and you may be one of the many who go home with wonderful new dance moves lol and know every trick in the book to cheat at Uno ,on a quiet evening ! We truly would have been bored without them and are a credit to themselves and the hotel . Unfortunately I can’t speak as highly regarding the sweet spot bar manager whose main priority seemed to be how much revenue he could make from passing trade . Being fully inclusive is a draw back as tables are needed for paying customers and our nightmare of trying to reserve a table for a group to celebrate a birthday … eventually was resolved under duress . That aside we had a lovely break away which was welcomed. The supermarket is a 10 min walk away . There is a little lovely beach at the bottom of the hill with a tiny cave to the right , it leads to another beautiful beach . There is a bar on the beach that arranges boat trips and serves delicious food and drinks . There is a land train that leaves every hour at twenty to the hour , that takes you to an amazing beach with bars , restaurants and shops for 4 euro return . Other than that there is nothing in the area so it’s peaceful !

Visited on 2nd to 6th October, fully inclusive, 3 adult ladies. We arrived at 11pm, on checkin, we were told fully inclusive had finished and there was nothing available for us! We were eventually given a bottle of water between 3 adults. This is an apart-hotel with blocks up and down the road from the reception area. The pool is away from the blocks and so is the restaurant, so not suitable for those with restricted mobility. There are no lifts to the accommodation, so you have to negotiate the stairs with your luggage. The room it's self was large and spotlessly clean. The only downside was, although we booked as 3 adults, the 3rd bed was a put-u-bed in the living room area!....apparently, unless you book a 2 bedroom apartment, this is the only layout available. Showergel, toilet rolls and hairdryer all present. Fridge freezer, kettle and hob. Take dishcloth and washing up liquid tho...£4 from machine in reception otherwise. Food at restaurant was ok, plenty to choose from...typical fully inclusive food. As far as drinks are concerned, we were made to feel like second class citizens when ordering on fully inclusive basis. Drinks were served in plastic cups, no garnishes on cocktails and only 2 drinks per person allowed at a time. I understand the need for rules, and that's fine, but there were 3 of us, so one person couldn't go to get the drinks for all of us!!! If you were paying for drinks, the cocktails were mixed freshly, shaken and served with garnishes. At Sweet spot, in the evenings, you have to wait in a different area of the bar for your fully inclusive drinks. You can't have gin in a proper gin glass, again it's served in a plastic cup. I was told " fully inclusive people take the glasses to their rooms and they dont come back". I said we were drinking in the bar, but still not allowed a proper glass!!! Paying people get served before you too. You don't get waiter service at your table either, unless you are paying for your drinks!!! This did tarnish our stay and probably, for these reasons, I wouldn't recommend a fully inclusive stay unless things change. After all, you do pre pay for your food and drink! We did enjoy the area, although, again, anyone with mobility issues would struggle to get to the beach. We probably wouldn't stay here again but there were people there who had visited numerous times before. Personal preference I suppose

Worst place I have ever stayed!! Arrived to be offered a postage stamp sized room with the dining table next to twin beds, mini kitchen, bathroom etc and balcony. Went straight back to reception and asked for the room we had paid for 1 bed apartment as in the pictures, which we eventually got on street level. Our first night there and after settling in, going out to eat came back the room to be greeted by a massive cockroach, friend killed it and flushed away in loo, about an hour later another 1, killed that. By now i'm freaking out, itching like I have fleas and scared to even sleep, next day go for breakfast came back and low and behold more roach's, that was it for me. Rang jet2 who thankfully managed to get us out of there but at an extra £165.55, to do so, I didn't care by now. Hotel then offered us another room but same scenario as the first room but even worse, balcony completely cut off from daylight due to about 4 trees right outside it, who would offer a room with trees outside to someone who is terrified of insects especially roach's beggars belief!!! so we left. The place is so boring, only one local place to eat/drink the sweet spot (who were a lovely group of staff, so thank you, especially vasques you're customer service is second to none). Every other place is up some long steep hills and down again, beach down 2 hills and walking back is not great of like me you have mobility issues, only shop is another long walk up and down hills definitely don't go if you can't walk far. There is zero to do in the area, no club, no shop, no pool snack bar, no site club, bus and road tourist train were scarce. Trying to get help with excursions none existent, zero help to our room with 2 full sized suitcases 2 holdalls and a wheelchair. It really was just a very bad experience all round and I will never go there again. Only plus is the apartment was clean, beds were comfy (not that I slept much thinking I had things crawling on me), and had a good sized balcony, but alas I couldn't sit on. So moved on to the Tropical sol in Albufeira and the best move we've made. Not 1 insect, loads to do, lots of shops, bars/restaurants and regular hop on/off buses run often, great food choices for our breakfasts as we're b&b. We're still here now 19 October and weather is gorgeous, so happy we moved. Ukino you let us down badly and a serious review of redesigning the area to include choices and a shop would be great.

If your after a very quiet area this is a good place to go, the rooms are really clean and spacious, I went as all inclusive, drinks are served at the outside pool bar which is quite small from 10.30 until 19.00, then from 19.00 to 23.00 at the indoor bar the sweet spot, the only down side is the week I went the weather wasn’t the greatest and raining quite a lot and yet was still expected to go to the outside pool bar for drinks, my only suggestion is that both bars should accommodate customers that all inclusive regardless of the time especially when the weather is poor.

We have recently just enjoyed a 7 night stay at the Ukino Terrace. We stayed on a self catering basis in, as others have remarked, a really spacious apartment. We had two balcony’s and fully included catering facilities minus an oven. This didn’t impact us as we only ate lunch and breakfast in the apartment. The pool area was spacious and we never struggled to get sun loungers even though the complex was quite busy during our stay. The staff we came across were all very helpful and friendly and the apartments were cleaned every other day. Our only downside was being allocated a room on the first floor- we were travelling with an infant and had requested (knowing it’s not guaranteed) a ground floor apartment as the complex doesn’t have lifts. This was a bit of pain having to carry our buggy up/down the stairs all the time. It must be said though that during our stay there was lots of other families staying at the resort and I think it was just our bad luck that these apartments had already been allocated to others. Another thing to note, which isn’t really the fault of the hotel, is how it it marketed by tour operators. The hotel is actually in the small resort of Alporchinhos although the likes of Jet2, Easjyet Holidays, Tui etc market it as either Porches or Armacao de Pera. It is quite a distance to both although local buses run to both of them. Be mindful however that the buses aren’t overally frequent (operates about 10 times a day). There is a tourist train that runs to Armacao de Pera which runs more often and until quite late in the evening. The price is £4 per person and this is a for a return ticket. Alternatively it is about a 40 minute walk into Armacao. It is quite an uphill walk back however. Alporchinhos itself as previously mentioned is a small resort. The lovely beaches are a ten minute walk away, accessible either down a big hill or via steps. There are around 10 restaurants about 10 minutes walk uphill from the hotel as well as the Intermarche supermarket. This is where the hotel is missing a trick- having a little mini market on site would not only be so convenient, it would make an absolute fortune i am sure. Another thing to note is use of taxis if travelling with children. Unlink the UK, it is a legal requirement in Portugal for children in taxis to be in a car seat. Unless you have your own, most taxi drivers including Uber and Bolt may not have one and won’t accept the fare. We had a great holiday at the Ukino Terrace and having done research prior to booking, knew what to expect from the hotel and resort. We wanted a cheap and relaxing break away which is what we got. Personally we won’t rush to return as in the future we would like a busier area as our daughter gets older. If you are looking for a quiet break however in a pretty Portuguese town then I would definitely recommend this hotel.
