Check in - the receptionist was disinterested, told us the bare minimum, no upgrade or vip options offered (even though these were advertised on *******).
No refreshments offered.
No help with luggage.
No offer to store our golf clubs in the storage room downstairs (until the 2nd or 3rd day when we were coming back from a golf trip).
Room - Room on 3rd floor, at the back of the hotel very small - it was the one we’d booked, but having stayed at other luxury accommodation we were still slightly surprised at quite how small it was.
No full length hanging space in the wardrobe, no space to store our empty luggage and the bathroom was basically a small shower room.
The room was boiling hot when we entered as the air conditioning hadn’t been switched on ready for us.
Swimming pools - pool area was clean and tidy and pool was clean and a good temperature, but not enough sun beds for all guests. The sun beds in front of the hotel overlooking the bay are all ‘reserved’ with towels by 8am and the small pool at the side of the hotel doesn’t get any sun until after noon (in September) and gets no air/breeze so is terribly hot.
Overall feeling about the hotel is that on the surface it looks beautiful but sadly we were somewhat underwhelmed by it. We have stayed at a number of luxury/boutique hotels and this just missed the mark, which is a shame as I expect that for their ‘regular’ customers they go the extra mile.
