Kettle Creek Inn

The welcome was pleasant. The food was amazing - especially the clam chowder. Great wine and beer list. Cozy and unpretentious atmosphere. Friendly and efficient service, felt taken care of without being hovered upon.

We had hoped to experience dinner at your establishment. When we walked in there was a couple of women in front of us who told the gentleman that they didn't have a reservation. Note that this was a Thursday after the long weekend. He told them to step into the other room and he would see what he could do. We approached another gentleman at the desk and we were told there was no room and fully booked. When we went to ask again - he again told us no room and just walked away from us. We went down the street to another restaurant asked and they told us they also had no room at that time but if we wanted a later time. We walked around the downtown area to use up time until our reservation time, we noticed several tables still available at your place. We went back in to inquiry and we're met by the same gentleman who told us he never spoke to us and that it wasn't him and again walked away. We could be nobody or maybe someone who works for a newspaper, magazine, Tripadvisor, etc. Treat everyone like they are the most important people in the world because you just never know who they are. Just a couple out celebrating their anniversary or someone who was out reviewing different establishments to write something in a published magazine, newspaper, blog. You never know!

Very homey and comfortable. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious at dinner. Lovely selection of wines to choose from as well. Would recommend the central location and access to businesses and the beach

We had a lovely stay. The room itself was nice, clean, we booked the king suite which was like an apartment, However, for $250/night, it was a lot for what you got. There is a continental breakfast that they give you the night before consisting of fruit, yogurt, muffins and juice. They'd be better to forgoe that and lower their prices. The room was clean but the general upkeep is a bit lacking, railings are mossy/dirty. The bathroom was nice and big but a small shower so for larger frames, may be uncomfortable. Lady that runs the Inn was lovely as was the gentleman who checked us in. Good location, we walked to the Beach but took about half hour.

Clean, quiet, nicely appointed room on 2nd floor. Downtown location very walkable. Free parking. This was a last minute get-away overnight for us, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The town has a lot of charm and I hope they don't over-develop, and lose it. We will be back.

We had stayed here before, and had enjoyed eating our dinner on a warm summer evening on the patio. However, when we got there this time we found out that the hotel, like many other businesses , has suffered from the side effects of Covid on staffing and currently ( mid August 2022) has no chef and therefore is unable to offer dinners. The popular restos in town tend to get fully booked, particularly on the weekends. I suggest thar a week or so before your visit you check on the current situation and if necessary book your evening meals elsewhere. Otherwise the hotel is a delightful place to stay, is centrally located, near the theatre and some good shopping.

Looking for a local post-lockdown getaway, we heard good things about Port Stanley and liked the reviews of the hotel on TA. We weren't disappointed. Management is largely a family operation, and our welcome was warm and friendly. Staff were friendly, personable and helpful. We opted for the designer's suite, and it was bright, spacious and comfortable. The real highlight for us, however, were our dinners -- we had two consecutive outstanding meals. My pan-fried pickerel was the best I've ever had, and Jan's duck salad was fabulous, as were the mussels. Service was excellent. I'm looking forward to a breakfast on the patio next visit -- because of COVID a cold breakfast was provided, which was adequate but not up to the inn's standards. While I agree some maintenance is in order, work is already underway. Fun beach town.
