Resort le Picchiaie

Something has gone SERIOUSLY wrong in this hotel. We stayed there with some friends that had stayed there 10 years ago and were very enthusiastic about returning. But then....OMG. :-( First, the majority of "official" pictures here on Trip Advisor are either from years ago or a different hotel (the rooms in particular). The entire facility is severely run down: weeds overgrowing the walkways, EVERYTHING in need of some new paint, etc. It looks as though it had been abandoned for some time and then just recently reopened without any maintenance or renovation. But the service really takes the cake. If I had to guess, I would say the people in the kitchen have never worked in a commercial kitchen before. I was embarrassed for them. In all of my years as a road warrior, I have never seen such a disaster. Horrible food, several dishes literally inedible, half the people at the table don't get half the dishes, etc. And when we pointed this out to the "manager", he didn't really seem to care. Everyone else across the dining room was having similar issues. For breakfast, no one cleans the tables or refills the buffet. So when we arrived at about 08.30, there wasn't much left to eat and the entire dining room was filled with dirty dishes and tables. I could go on and on, but it's really just not worth it. Instead, I will close with the highlight of the trip.....on our last evening, the person responsible for the kitchen (I will not degrade the culinary industry by calling him a chef) apparently cut part of his finger off. An ambulance came to pick him up, and he returned later with 7 stitches. I can only hope none of his pieces ended up in the food. The ambulance crew seemed pretty focused on him potentially having consumed some "substances", but he denied this. And when our group contacted the owner of the hotel to share our overall displeasure, we learned he is actually in Milan, not Elba, and does not seem to be aware of any of the issues. His response, loosely translated,...."well. it's hard to find staff these days." So a suggestion to you, dear Owner.....you can't manage a hotel from 500KM away. Go to Elba and see what is happening there. This place is LITERALLY a disaster. If this were the last hotel on earth, i wouldn't send my worst enemy there.

Maximiliano and Stefano were awesome! Super friendly, cordial and provided excellent information about the entire island!!! One thing though you need to be in pretty decent shape! Would not recommend it for people that are not in some aerobic shape!

Die Erwartungen, die die tollen Fotos im Internet erzeugen, werden von der Realität leider zerstört, wenn man ein "Standardzimmer" gebucht hat. Trotzdem: Das Personal ist ausgesprochen nett. Die Aussicht ist wirklich nett. Taxi nach Portoferraio kostet ca € 25.-

Premetto che non ho soggiornato nell'hotel e dunque non ne posso valutare i servizi e le camere. Ma ho avuto una cattivissima esperienza a seguito di una rinuncia per un grave problema di salute. Mi era stato promesso che avremmo potuto recuperare a patto che ... (e meglio se ometto di dire qual era il patto ...), ma poi al momento di recuperare mi è stata data solo la disponibilità della camera più costosa dell'hotel, quando in tutti i portali erano disponibili le altre camere e non eravamo nemmeno in alta stagione.

Prenoti un 4 stelle e ti ritrovi in un 2 stelle scarso. Cibo inqualificabile e immangiabile, a parte il bouffet che xò si ripete tutta la settimana. Personale poco attento e poco disponibile, tempi di attesa colazione e cena interminabili.(30 min x un latte macchiato) Oltretutto una sera abbiamo cenato fuori (x mangiare un po decentemente) avvisando 2gg prina, e ci hanno fatto cmq pagare la cena. Doccia /vasca con tenda in plastica e scarico che perdeva.. Ogni sera riempivamo il bagno di asciugamani. Panorama stupendo

Siamo stati in questo albergo per 6 notti mezza pensione 1 camera standard io il mio compagno e mio figlio di 7 anni, anzichè essere felici e contenti di trascorrere una settimana di relax e ferie tanto desiderate appena varcata la porta dell’albergo abbiamo pensato di essere coinvolti in uno scherzo e non alla realtà… in primis per arrivare in albergo vi aspetta una bella strada dissestata e ripida…abbiamo pensato “dove siamo capitati”, ma il bello doveva ancora arrivare…entrati in camera siamo rimasti malissimo in quanto le foto viste non rappresentano assolutamente la realtà tutto datato vecchio,vasca arruginita e che perdeva acqua allagando il bagno ogni volta…cibo scadente spesso ci consegnavano i pasti insipidi non conditi e freddi.. o addirittura si scordavano i contorni e anchessi arrivavano o cotti male o freddi.. i dessert ce li portavano spesso congelati all’interno.. l’albergo è buio ci sono poche luci o le accendono a ridosso della cena stessa musica stessa routine sembrava di essere in uno scherzo…l’albergo all’esterno è ben tenuto e bello da vedersi ma tutto il resto è un gran NO! L’aria che si respira è pesante puzza di rinchiuso vecchio muffa…Siamo rimasti malissimo in quanto questi soldi erano sacrificio di 1 anno di lavoro, passare 1 settimana così è stato brutto non vedevamo l’ora di tornare a casa.. non è un 4 stelle mi dispiace.

Struttura esterna molto bella...poco illuminazione esterna ed interna...le camere pulite ma da modernizzare...il personale gentile... purtroppo il mangiare pessimo... piatti sempre freddi... addirittura torte congelate... qualità del cibo molto scarsa...4 euro per una bottiglia di acqua da portare in camera...non consiglio questo posto

Abbiamo prenotato la suite per due giorni, prezzi alti ma siamo abituati ad un standard alto, innanzitutto la strada per arrivare disastrata, arriviamo la reception con le valigie e ci indicano la suite che si trova al secondo piano senza ascensore e con nessun facchino che porta sui bagagli, entriamo nella stanza proviamo un divano letto e due letti singoli attaccati per il letto matrimoniale, doccia fatiscente con copri water che si muoveva pericolosamente visto che abbiamo un bimbo, il porta carta igienica con la ruggine, scendiamo perché dimenticavo che abbiamo preso la mezza pensione con cena compresa, scendiamo per cenare e noto subito sulle travi del ristorante delle ragnatele e anche sul bordo delle finestre vicino al nostro tavolo, ordiniamo il primo e arriva freddo ordiniamo il secondo e arriva ancora freddo, lo faccio notare a un signore che c’è lì al ristorante e gentilmente me lo fa riportare caldo, giorno dopo cena e ancora i piatti gustosi per carità ma sempre freddi. questa mattina andiamo alla reception chiediamo il conto ci vengono addebitati 38 € per le acque e due caffè, noi non diciamo nulla paghiamo in contanti e con grande sorpresa chi era la reception non ci lascia nessuna ricevuta, dopo una nostra richiesta ci rilascia uno scontrino, questa è la mia prima recensione che faccio e credo che sia anche l’ultima, vedendo le altre recensioni di questo hotel voglio far notare al direttore che se mi risponde in qualsiasi modo se non scusandosi visto che vedo che risponde in modo molto molto colorito mi vedrò a sporgere una denuncia con foto e video e altri ospiti in quei giorni che sono stato lì come testimoni. Solo una nota positiva hanno pulito la stanza molto bene.
