Great hotel and holiday. Lovely room , great pool area and pool bar. Perfect for the commercial area as they call it, shops bars and restaurants. Only down side is no shower room if you have a late checkout. Extend the room till 3pm for €25. Rooms have all you want. Microwave, kettle and hair dryer! Very big balcony with the sun in the afternoon till early evening. Watch out for the steps back up though. €5 for a taxi. Same for all as Puerto Rico is hilly. An hours walk to amodores beach along the coast and Puerto Rico beach is nice too. Fabulous weather late April early May.. Perfect holiday...just back to work on Monday!!!!

Last minute break and was very unsure as never been to Gran Canaria and was by myself. But the minute I walked through the hotel doors I was at ease as the staff where so welcoming and friendly. Hotel was absolutely spotless and rooms where for me perfect. Views where great also. Pool bar was great and the staff where all superb and friendly. Down side is the steps to get down and up so if you have any problems walking maybe not for you but taxis are cheap to get up and down. The guests also made me feel welcome and they seem I was there myself. Would recommend for families couples or a single Pringle. Pros , great staff , rooms and hotel are spotless, pool bar cheap enough to have breakfast and a snack, can’t put sun bed towels down till 10am till the life guard gets there. Cons , lots steps up and down to get to the shopping centre ( taxis are cheap tho) And no entertainment at night , but pool bar staff are good company and chat away all night. We stayed at this hotel for a week as a family of 5, the rooms are clean and are well equipped, the hotel bar was great we ate here several times and is good for the kids to grab an ice cream when in the pool, the steps down to the main ***** are ok walking down but a killer to get back up we only attempted it once and got taxis the rest of the time 😂 the location though is perfect! Now the only problem I would say I have is that as previously mentioned we are a family with 3 young kids, we were given 2 separate rooms (when booking this hotel there was no option to book different types of rooms) we just accepted and got on with things… when checking out as we had a late flight back we asked to keep the room on but unfortunately the hotel was full and this wasn’t an option but we was offered a slot in a courtesy room for an hour so we could all shower, this was free and we gratefully accepted, when using this room it was an interconnected room??? Had I known this at the time of check in I would have been requesting these rooms This would have made our initial first few days a whole lot easier not having to separate luggage etc and would have meant we could have all been together.

Castillo de Sol - just back from a brilliant week. The weather was amazing (no need for a cardi, jacket or jumper in the evenings!). For those of you who want to know - 167 steps down to the centre and €5 for a taxi back up! The hotel was great, room was cleaned every day. No sunbed wars as you can’t reserve a sunbed and nobody is allowed onto the sunbeds before 10 a.m. The pool bar was fab - good food, lovely staff and very reasonably priced. It’s open from 8:30 a.m. until late (last orders for drinks is 11:20 p.m.) Downfalls - no hairdryers in the room. You can hire one from reception, as long as they’ve got one (the chance you take!) and nowhere to shower if you have a late departure and can’t have a late check out. We were told that we could change in the toilets in reception. This seems ludicrous given all the space they’ve got in their reception area. Anyhow, we wouldn’t hesitate to go back - thanks for a brilliant week! 😎🏝️☀️🍻🍸

Was a bit dubious before arriving after reading some reviews, but we were sooo pleasantly surprised , apartment very clean, pool bar and staff are amazing. Food and breakfast nice in the pool bar, thanks so much for a brilliant stay! The steps opposite hotel take u down to the main commercial centre and a taxi back is only €4 really great location

Spent a week at this hotel from the 19th of March, the hotel is very clean the rooms are great and all staff are fantastic nothing to much trouble all friendly and will do anything to help, the pool are is nice with plenty of sun beds and a good choice of food and drinks at the pool bar which is very reasonably priced compared to other hotels we have stayed at, there was daytime activities around the pool area on most days with Joel who was very good, in fact we enjoyed it that much we have booked for 2 weeks in May and can't wait to get there. Keep going back to this hotel which gets better every year great location a couple of minutes walk to centre huge smart televisions in apartments and safe in with price very comfortable beds great pool bar with sky sports exc heated pool and a very nice lad doing daytime entertainment can’t fault the hotel

Location, room, food, staff, heated pool, hundreds of sun loungers, quality of hotel ( newly renovated) all excellent. Not so good - poor (non existent evening entertainment) and 11pm closing time for all inclusive drinks. Mainly a family hotel less geared for couples.

Was a good value for money. Comfortable clean hotel and pretty good location. You still have the steps to contend with but it’s still good
