Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Holguín

We just returned from a wonderful week at this beautiful ,peaceful paradise. We really loved that the pool was right next to the rooms. The food ,drinks were all very good and so was the service by ALL the staff. Spending our afternoons at the pool ,Carlos entertained us with pool activities ,dancing lessons and we really enjoyed it when he'd sing and play guitar. One of the drivers from the beach we really enjoyed was Rodolfo ,he made our ride very enjoyable with his made up songs along the way. While we were waiting for our bus in the lobby ,Carlos and a lady from the buffet came to wish us a safe trip home .

This is our first time in Cuba and our first time at an all-inclusive resort. So, we really have no point of comparison to budget whether the Coral was good or not. But here is a list of things we did and did not love: Good: - Our room was quite nice. Lots of space, big bathroom, big TV.  - A/C in the room was excellent. Always felt cool and was easy to adjust colder and warmer. - Plenty of hot water in the shower. - Comfortable bed. - Room was cleaned well each day. - All the staff at the resort are very friendly. - A fairly wide assortment of food choices.  - The resort is quiet. We never felt overwhelmed with noise or had trouble sleeping.- Everything seemed quite clean. - 2 nice beach areas in the resort. - 2 nice pools. - Decent little fitness center- 5 different themed restaurants, a buffet, and a 24-hour snack bar. - A couple of billiard tables, multiple bars, a cigar smoking room, a little dance club, a currency exchange spot, a small store for sunscreen/sandles/toiletries/etc. - There is a doctor on site (Although I can't authoritatively say if he was an actual doctor or not) Not As Good: - When we first got to the resort the entire place did not have water. But, no one told us this. We just struggled for a while trying to figure out how to use the water. - It felt difficult to figure out how everything worked. It would make sense to have some paperwork with all the resort details. But instead we had to continually ask questions and figure things out as we went.  - Each day they put bottles of filtered water and 2 beers in your fridge. We don't drink and asked if cans of soda could be provided instead. They said yes, but this did not ever occur. - The bottles of filtered water they provide has a overpowering musty taste.  - My wife got mild food poisoning from something on the 3rd day. - None of the food was really great. If you go to the buffet you will eventually find the food you like the best, but even that is just OK. The ice cream is OK, but otherwise, the desserts are very underwhelming. - I was aware going in that the food in Cuban resorts is not their best quality, but I was hoping for really good fruit. Unfortunately, this was not the case. There was fresh pineapple, papaya, and bananas, but the rest all came from a can. - The wifi is real bad. It constantly disconnects and even when it stays connected, it is dreadfully slow.  - Basketball and tennis courts are in pretty rough shape. - There are no cities or towns close to the resort. So, if you want to see other things there is a 20-60 minute drive to get anywhere.

Just got back from a wonderful vacation at Iberostar Coral Holguín. Highly recommend this resort for adults only. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. We were lucky to get a room with an outdoor shower and thoroughly enjoyed bathing in the warm sunshine and under the stars at night. A definite must try if available. The maids and mini bar staff are attentive and will bend over backwards to help make you happy. Our maid Dayne was especially friendly and made cute animals out of our bedding each day. Our butlers Yarin and Augusto checked in with us daily and took care of all our needs and requests. The wait staff are second to none and quite a few of them exceeded expectations. In the morning our favourite waitress Maria always remembered our drink orders and the fact that I liked a glass of ice on the side for my chocolate milk. She always greeted us with a smile and made the start to our day special. Janisbella and Yasmine were also phenomenal and we shared many laughs and jokes during our meals. Jacqueline at the front desk became a fast friend who always went out of her way for us with our many questions and requests. My friend and I had the pleasure of getting a massage from Jamelia and Rogerio and it was the best 90 minutes I have ever spent. We also had an absolute blast with some of the bar staff. Alexander, Julio, Hector, William and the very beautiful Dayana were super fun, attentive and personable and made great tasting drinks. Even the lifeguard (her name eludes me) was great. I had many interesting conversations with her about her competitions and training. Lovely woman! Last but certainly not least was Carlos, the entertainment coordinator. Carlos is the most genuine, kind hearted, fun loving, hard working man I have ever met. We spent many hours with Carlos each day playing volleyball, football, doing aqua fit, dancing and just having a great time. Carlos is a huge asset to Iberostar and should be commended on his dedication to providing the guests with a wonderful experience. Iberostar is a wonderful, relaxing, fun resort with exceptional staff and I highly recommend staying there!

First time to holguin. We usually go to Varadero. Holguin has much more vegetation and surrounded by mountains. May is considered low season. Hotel was at 50% occupancy. It’s very small. We met a lot people 😊 one restaurant, one pool and one bar. There are two floors. We recommend ground floor, we faced the pool and we had hot tub and an outdoor shower. You can walk to family side of the hotel, about 5 min walk. More action on that side, gym, a la carte restaurants, the entertainment was on the family side. Our side was very quiet. My only criticism is that the beach is a far walk (10 Minutes) there are however shuttles that bring you back and forth. You can’t walk to the beach at night, it’s too far and no lights. I would probably stay here again. There is butler service and you are well taken care of!

This was our third time at the Iberostar. Trip one at Selection, trips two and three at the Coral. We love the resort, we love the beach, we love the atmosphere, we love the food and drink, but most of all we love the people. Special thank you to our butlers Junior and Yarian for taking such good care of us, to Maria and Yasmine in the dining room for always making us feel so welcome, to Dyanna and Alex at the pool bar for the great service and to Carlos for the fabulous entertainment. See you all again in October.

I can't say enough good things about this resort! The staff is amazing, the resort is spotless and welcoming. You will not regret booking here! If you are looking to relax and just get away from the everyday, this is the place for you!! Go for it

We are having a wonderful time , I really love this amazing and beautiful hotel , we have no complaints. We love coming to Cuba because we love spending time with the Cuban people, they are the best . Special thanks to the coral restaurant staff as well as the poolside bar guys Dayana ,Alexander , Yander ,Héctor Wiliam, Laritza and Carlos We'll be back soon.

My family and I just had our best vacation in this wonderful Cuban resort, we enjoyed every day ,the weather was fantastic , it was always sunny and warm but we loved that .Every day we ate delicious dishes , the beaches were very beautiful and the pools was huge and nice . Entertainment was magnificent in the day. We are coming back on October

Amazing first time in Ibersotar Coral Holguin , we stayed for a week and had a very good time . People here are very nice and they always want to help , and make us feel great . Entertainment was better than expected, the aqua ballet show was the best , special thanks to entertainer coordinator Carlos, he was absolutely the best . We are coming back soon
