Hotel AVN Grand

The hotel is very cosy, having easy access as it is beside main road. Staff are really good & prompt. Food is really good. It is a good hotel for family, business meeting. For marriage or ant party it is a good option

A welcoming place to which I return when in Ranchi. Checking in and out is fast and efficient in an unhurried, friendly way. The staff is truly supportive. The rooms are a bit smallish but well furnished. Importantly, all amenities work. The place is kept scrupulously clean. A point for improvement is the wifi, which lacks strength in places. The experienced traveller knows that a stay in a hotel gets only as good as the food it offers. AVN Grand’s hidden gem is its restaurant “24 Carrots”. When ordering, allow yourself to be surprised. Chef cook Rustam heads an exceptional kitchen. As soon as one enters, and as long as one stays, in the AVN Grand one feels surrounded by the discreet luxury that only a truly well run place can offer.

Stayed for couple of days for Business Training, with Team Members. Excellent staff behaviour, good quality food, very descent and reachable location. Noticed rooms are maintaining high standards. The hotel is highly recommended.

this is a good, affordable hotel in Ranchi. The room was comfortable but had no windows. That made it good and dark for sleeping, but rather cell-like for daytime. It's a nice Indian domestic hotel. Not necessarily the same as the western chain hotels. Breakfast is included. It's also quite Indian. Getting tea at breakfast, and coffee later in the day took some time. Service was on the slow side. The coffee was very tasty. The location is excellent for shopping on a busy road in the city.

This is a pretty good hotel...good especially in it's price range. But it is an Indian hotel, I'm not sure how much they cater to international visitors. On arrival, staff was friendly, but we were taken back when they asked for a photo for our foreigner registration form. We've stayed in ***y different hotels in India and have never been asked this. We got out of this predicament by showing our Indian identification cards. At registration, there also seemed to be some confusion about our OCI cards...the staff person was looking in our passports for our visas...even though he had the OCI cards in his position. They first put us in quite a large room on the second floor. After a few minutes they came back to say that we had to be moved to another room...this was the wrong room for us. We were moved to foom 611. That room isn't bad at all and the size was more sensible, but it had no windows. That made it extremely dark for sleeping (a good thing) but also too dark in the morning for getting up. The shower was a basic Indian shower. The water was hot...but it wasn't anything fancy. Breakfast is included. But it's a very Indian breakfast. Little that is familiar to western people. And it was quite a high carb breakfast. Getting tea took quite a long time, as did coffee later in the morning. But, I will say that the latte was very tasty. It was strange, however, that the server had no idea what we were asking for with a latte. My wife had to show her on the menu. Is the hotel good? Yes, it's quite good. Staff did their best to be friendly and helpful. I'd probably stay there again. Location is also very good, just off the main road with lots of shopping nearby.
