Aquarium View Hotel

The location of the hotel was good and the room was a decent size however I had an issue with housekeeping. We came back after a day trip out and my bed had been made which was fine. On further inspection, there was blood on the bed covers. When I spoke to reception the lady did not seem to know what she was doing. She basically told me she couldn’t change the sheets. I refused this and eventually someone changed them however the blood had gone through to the mattress. Had to ask about 6 times to speak with the manager as he was never there. He said it could have been a mosquito which was absolutely ridiculous given the amount of blood. Eventually he apologies and gave us vouchers for dinner but having to deal with all that on holiday wasn’t what I wanted. Other staff were great - waiter/ waitress etc and the food was always great. The bedrooms weren’t very modern.

Location good. Hotel bad. Rooms are old, need refurbishment. Also was not washed bathroom upon arrival. Breakfast below average. Reception staff sometimes rude. Never leave your credit card, booking office charge more than agreed. Not going back.

Had an excellent short stay at the aquarium view , booked independently asked for a higher floor sea-view room and were given our wishes with a bright modern 6 th floor room with spectacular views we were delighted Tho for anyone who prefers a balcony with evening sun you would be better with a room at the back , stayed bed & breakfast & the breakfasts were very nice and more than adequate for us Great location walk across the road to the large (pebbly) elli beach , lots of nice local bars & restaurants and an enjoyable walk into old or new town I would return again Only downsides to the hotel , was only 1 elevator which could lead to long waits And in our opinion they need to employ more bar staff most especially on evenings with entertainment , we saw 2 great acts while staying , a supremes tribute band who were fantastic, and a good Abba tribute band On both evenings there was only one barman & 1 waiter who both worked heroically but could not cope with the large numbers of people Watching the acts , you just could not get served, we only managed to get 1 drink each on both nights

We checked in at about 8pm. We were greeted by Nicos. He gave us the keys and explained about the pool being next door and breakfast times and location. We were in room 615. Very happy with the hotel and the service. The room cleaning was done by a wonderful lady who was cheerful everyday. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety for everyone and with oatmeal might I say. So I do highly recommend this hotel as we walked from here to Maria Sofia restaurant in the old town and another very good restaurant Louis close to the hotel.

Do not believe the pictures on the net. That’s the few renovated hotel rooms. The one we stayed at had horrible, old standard with mussing tiles, rotting wood and ants. The wifi signal was horrible, and also we got food poisoning and found it hard to contact the reception asking for towels and toilet paper. Not sure if this was from the hotel’s lunch. Also breakfast was very dissapointing. Will not visit again.

We stayed at the aquarium view hotel the first week in September and had a great stay. Prior to booking we were aware that the hotel was undergoing renovations to the rooms and that the pool was located at the sister hotel next door. On arrival, the check in process was simple and efficient. Unfortunately our room was not recently renovated and was in need of bringing up to speed - the bathroom was small and in need of modernisation . While necessary, we cannot fault the hotel for this as this is clearly recognised and being rectified in stages. However, the room compiled of all the necessary amenities including a safe and a fridge and was clean to a very good standard. The shared facilitates in the hotel have been modernised and we’re always clean. Breakfast each morning was fitting for the size of hotel and we never struggled for seating or selection, even when we ate later - breakfast until 11am was fantastic. Location of the hotel is great - on the beach, less than a 5 minute walk from the bars of the strip. The service from the cleaning team, to reception and breakfast team (all of which worked very hard) could not be faulted. The pool is located next door and the use of facilities was simple - we were never questioned about using the facilities. The pool is small but never over crowded - we arrived at 11:30/12 some days and were able to get sun beds despite being busy. The bar is good and decent priced, and the food was reasonable. All in all we had a good stay, and no doubt would have had a 5 star stay if we were in a renovated room. We would not hesitate to stay again in a renovated room in the future. Thanks for a great stay.
